Guest guest
Hi I have had MS for 20 years and a quadriplegic because of this disease. Well I'm tired of being in a wheel chair. 4 years ago I mentally thought about moving my calf muscles and within 2 weeks I was flexing them. My problem is patience and staying focused. I do believe that the brain can heal the body. As of now I can flex most leg muscles from the waist down. How does one meditate to accomplish a healing? Thank you for any help that you can provide. It's time to take charge. tom
Guest guest
Tom, I would like to first commend you for the accomplishments you have made. I am a hypnotherapist. Hypnosis is a very close cousin to meditation. In my work I have found those that are truly tired of their situation, as you say you are, have the best success in reaching their goal. Therefore I know you will reach yours. I have taught the following technique to my clients to help them achieve a hypnoic state themselves. The countdown techinique: First get in a comfortable position. I recommend lying down. If you find youself falling asleep then try sitting up relaxed and comfortable. Close your eyes then all you have to do is count backwards from 25 saying the word relax between each number. ( 25 relax 24 relax..........................) You can count out loud or to yourself what ever feels best for you. Count at an nice steady pace not too fast. Use the word relax to push out all those thoughts that can bleed in. Let your body know and feel the meaning of the word. Keep focused on the numbers and the word relax. The goal is not to get to number one. You will find yourself forgetting what number you are on. This is a good thing. Remember the goal is not to get to number one. When you have reached this point shift your focus on your goal. In your case it may be seeing your muscles repairing themselves and getting stronger and stronger. Let your childlike imagination come out and fantasize about leaving your wheel chiar and walking, running even. Remember children's imagination has no limits! Know, if you do get to number one you can still be in a relaxed hypnoitic state. It's just not a deep state. Practice, practice, practice. You will find your self forgetting your numbers. I hope this helps you. If you have any questions I will be glad to assist you in anyway I can. You can email me personally. Just put Countdown Techinque Qustions in the subject line so I do not ignore your email, thinking it may be junk. My business slogan is THE MIND IS THE GREATEST VESSEL. Guest guest
Great to hear about your imagination Tom. This may be part of the reason you have been as successful as you have been. Many times we opperate too much from the adult part of us and don't let the child come out to play. Try my technique. Work on it. Practice it. Again let me know if you need help with this.
