Guest guest
Howdy , Beside the FVL , I have Lyme and just about every other tick disease. I have been on Plavix for months. I started a new round of abx a few months ago. Recently I started getting extremely stiff and stove up if I don't move. Also, I have noticed very faint bruises around my hips , knees and ankles , these are not impact bruises. Anyone else have this? Thanks much! /Pepi
Guest guest
I had alot of bruising with my lyme and ehrlichiosis. wondered if it was just me, but it was very obvious, large bruises and also, not from impact. Just one of the many weird things...my llmd suggested Riboflavanoids and said they strengthen the blood vessel walls and strengthen immune systems. Hope my .02 helps! Guest guest
Yes, bioflavinoids are great for capillary strength. There is a company called Standard Process that manufactures some fantastic supplements and one of their products is called " Cyruta " which helps blood flow through the circulatory system and strengthens the capillary walls. It's main substance is buckwheat. www.standardprocess.com There is also another great product called " Liquid O " which is from a company called " R Garden " . www.rgarden.com. I am not a rep for this company, just use their excellent products. sue in nj sue massie
Guest guest
Hi! The way you describe these bruises, they sound like purpura. They don't hurt, they just show up unexplained, as it is a vasculitis problem. My daughter had purpura when she was only 6 years old, and at first she didn't even seem sick with it. Then she swelled up and had extremely painful joints, horrendous belly pain, lost almost all of her hair, began passing blood...it was very scary. It took several years and many hospitalizations and I.V. treatments with gamma globulin to get her through what they diagnosed as Henoch-Schoenlein Purpura. I have since wondered if it might have been Lyme. She is doing pretty well now at age 13, but her health is fragile. She is fighting me on having her tested for Lyme, as she has seen the hell her older brother has gone through with treatment and set-backs. She just wants to be left alone after too many doctors put her through the mill, and who can blame anyone for feeling that way, especially a kid. I just wondered if any of you have heard this same terminology in terms of your bruising. Judie
Guest guest
Hi , I've had bruising too that I can't relate to anything other than my Lyme. Mine aren't that faint though, they usually develop that blue/purple look. On the funny side, one time in high school I had a few bruised on my legs, a few on my arms, and one on my upper back, and it was hot out so I'm wearing shorts to school, and the school called DYFS because they thought I was being abused! My mom and I didn't think anything of it when I left for school that day in shorts and short sleeves because we were used to me always having a few bruises. Do your bruises hurt? I notice my skin gets a bruised look to it, but they don't hurt. Lyme Project mailto:lymeproject@... http://www.omaser.com/lymeproject Original Message: ----------------- From: Rodney & rod@... They are SO odd! LOL its like they are from the knee and hip joints. They are starting to fade, hope they don't come back, they ruin my legs in shorts LOL
Guest guest
Hi Judie, I'm not familiar with that term, my bruises didn't show up until after I had Lyme Disease and the doctor said they were Lyme-related right away, but Lyme is " The Great Imitator " , and your daughter may be suffering from a misdiagnosis, or my Lyme could have been imitating what she has. Either way, I know from experience how hard testings and treatments can be on a kid -- I got bit at 8 and did IV treatments at 10, and emotionally I went through Hell. My Mom wouldn't make me go to school on days I had bloodwork because being stuck was so emotionally draining. Especially since your daugter has undergone IV treatments and hair loss and extreme illness, Lyme testing and treatments would seem unbearable, but coax her to do it because if she has Lyme she might need the treatments to save her life. I'll be praying for you guys! Lyme Project mailto:lymeproject@... http://www.omaser.com/lymeproject Original Message: ----------------- From: GoodLittleDobee@... Guest guest
I know it sounds funny but when I bump into something I immediately put flat pressure on the area and it seems to help the bump not bleed or swell up as much. I also notice that when I take more Vitamin C I don't bruise as much and/or it goes away faster. I have also used a product from Mannatech called Firm, which is a lovely lavendar-smelling cream that has their healing aloe vera product, and it makes my bruises fade faster. Would ice also work? Best wishes. in La Selva Beach CA Bruises ? Anybody know of anything that will heal a bruise after a blow? Thanks, Adrienne
