Guest guest
Dear Friends & Family, I'd like to ask for your prayers for some very close friends of a very close friend of mine. They were heading into the bushfire area for the weekend (before there were bushfires) and have not been contactable for almost a week. We are all praying they are safe and sound somewhere and could use all the help we can get. Their names are Cath & Spud. Thank you all so much. My family & I live in another part of the country and are safe, although the whole nation is reeling with with post traumatic shock. We are pulling together and donating what we can to our southern brothers and sisters, even to the point where people in north queensland who have experienced devastating flooding and lost everything are donting their own relief funding. This is what it means to be Australian. Farmers from all over the country have donated livestock and fodder. Transport companies, their trucks to get things through. Ordinary Australians, people who are doing it tough. We would give the shirt off our back if that's what it came to, to help out our "mates". I've never been more proud to be Australian than I am now. I pray for each and every one of the 181 souls who it has been confirmed lost their lives fighting or fleeing the firestorms, the authorities know it will be more as they eventually gain access to more remote areas. I pray for the townships of Kingslake and sville razed to the ground, not to mention all the livestock, horses and wildlife unable to escape. The authorities believe the fires were deliberately lit and I pray for the souls of the sick bastards who would do such a thing. Last weekend the temperatures in New South Wales & have been the hottest on record hitting 47 degrees celsius. With gusting winds and dry conditions, these people didn't stand a chance and they are not out of the woods yet as bushfires still threaten certain parts of . The radio reported this morning that 2 men had been caught attempting to start another 2 fires overnight. Is it me, or do these people really need help??? I can't fathom it..... Lastly, I pray for the brave souls who have seen the horrific human toll and who work day in & day out to try and bring these fires under control. Many more homes and lives would be lost without the volunteers of the Rural Fire Services that have come from all over Australia to fight these fires. I'd like to leave you with this raw cell phone footage posted on youtube and shown on every national news show in our country last night. It is of a firefighter giving a koala a drink of water. They normally don't need to drink as they get their water from Eucalyptus leaves. This touched my heart so much when I saw it, I couldn't contain tears of joy. You've been duly warned. lol. Hope I got the link right, if not check it out on youtube by searching for Thirsty Koala. You can also donate to the wildlife rescue through a link on this page. Thank you everyone for your kind prayers and donations. Love and light to you all, Rhonda Make 7 your homepage and win a trip to the Quiksilver Pro. Find out more.
