what is giving?

As odd as it may seem, the journey to genuine giving begins this way:

we do not give.  A failure to give is actually part of the journey.

Why does a person not give?

First, the person judges by appearances and believes that giving

produces lack.  Second, the individual is unaware that we may sow in

one field and reap in another.  In other words, the outworking of the

law, as you give, so shall you receive, may return to you in an

unpredictable way.

The one who fails to give experiences fear, lives in an unfriendly

universe, and believes that supply is money and that he/she does not

have enough.  Oddly, enough of these thoughts and beliefs of lack

produce after their kind and more lack is experienced.

Tomorrow, another rite of passage: Giving out of guilt.
