There are few individuals that rival ’s contribution to music and there are few musicians who have elicited the spectrum of emotional responses as . Personally, you loved him or you hated him. Professionally, who can’t sing along with at least one of his songs?

I will never forget Thriller exploding across the screens and spawning the MTV Generation.

It is hard to separate the media hype of his career with the shy artist his family, friends and fans loved, but that is a mistake that diminishes all of us. This evening, is a soul at peace and my prayers are with him and his family.

I will remember most for his contribution to We Are The World and for the song Man in the Mirror, which stirred me to look beyond myself to the greater good of all.
