Guest guest
Kathy Yes, it is very gross to step on the bone from your toe because it is dislocating...Of course the surgeon says it is from RA but he did a major fusion on the same foot in May.....supposedly the joint is shot and won't hold the toe ICK Thanks Joanne
Guest guest
Maybe they fuse the toe also. I don't know what they do if the joint is shot. Joanne
Guest guest
I'm thinking of upping my daughter's dosage. Guest guest
well i talked to someone at work again today. she used to get some sort of food thru her church that she used to give me. work has not done anything for me. not even sent a card. i told my supervisor i felt like i have been forgotten there. we do have asst programs here but generally they are only a once a season thing. don't want to use it yet. actually i made some phone calls today and found i was not as bad as i thought. i must've paid the total amounts last month with past due fee's. i always freak out at the beginning of the month. hitting me really hard as pms is hitting the same time too!!! i spent all morning on the phone. cleaned my kitchen including sweeping the floor from my chair!! i am going to the food pantry tomorrow so hopefully some of the staples will be taken care of. i just needed to vent today. i will check into the township general assistance program while i am at the food pantry. i have just put a devils food cake in the oven. it is halloween!! i will have to go to the store to get some frosting as my mil won the mix at her bingo games!! thanks for listening and sharing ideas. kathy in il

Guest guest
oh sorry!! upper respitory infections. enbrel and remicade work with tnf factors. (tumor nucrosis factor, one works on the a side, the other works on the b side) i have tried them both. they made me feel better, but suffered from infections on both. enbrel was a little easier as you gave yourself injection 2x's a week. kathy in il
Guest guest
URI= Upper Resportory Infections Remicade and Enbrel both promote URI's takes the Enbrel but has been able to take since Dec. He had surgery on his foot and wrist and when he woke up he what was like an asthma attack. He recovers slowing from being put to sleep. The fact that he takes the Enbrel promoted the whole thing. They never told me to stop giving it to him before surgery. The injection before the surgery I didn't give to him for fear of this. He had to go to the OR two more times. Jan 11th was the last time. He was showing signs of getting this flu/cold thats going around so we didn't start the Enbrel again. He still is having trouble and it's been impossible to get him into the Plumanary DR. He sees his Primary DR tomorrow and she can call and get him in even if its a fit appt. The Enbrel does wonders for . He became a whole new child. He is now flaring due to the flu/cold and the change in weather we keep having. One day its warm and sunny and when the sun goes down it drops up to 40 degrees. Its been hard on the whole family. Of course I get it worse because I take care of the sick ones. Thats 5 boys, 6 if you include my boyfriend. I do think your friend needs to see a Rheumy. Her regular DR sounds like he cares about her a great deal, but he is out of his element. There are so many drugs out there that he may not know about or know what can be used with pain meds so she doesn't vomit. I remember someone in the group use to have a patch because her tummy couldn't handle the meds. I know the trip is hard but it would only be once every 2 to 3 months. I think it would be worth the trip. Ya'll could always get a motel room and stay the night. You can even deduct the cost of the room on your taxes under " other medical expenses " , same as milage to and from drs appts and to and from drug store. I just found this out in Jan when we did our taxes. Anyway, try to get to think about it. I think it would be the wise thing for her to do. take care, shelly
Guest guest
Hi Kathy, Thanks for the welcome. Being new to all this, could you please tell me what " URI's " are? I want to be fully prepared when she sees her dr next time. Thanks. i hope the enbrel works for her. i felt better on it, but did have bad uri's from it. kathy in il

Guest guest
thanks tess. when i get my check this month i will just pay my house, rent, car and house insurance. dan's public aid (cause they gotta get their $ too!! how come everyone else get $ from public aid and i've gotta pay??) the utilities will have to wait. some things are more important than others. and we may just have to go to the food pantry again or something. i know it'll work out. it is just so much all at once. plus his car is in the shop leaking anti freeze. plus that lady from work is still in my head, and they just sent out school registration forms which means more $ also reminds me my home tax is due in a couple months too. his car got called in for emissions and it burns oil pretty bad. like i didn't have enough stress without all of this on top!!!! ugh!!! kathy in il

Guest guest
Debbie, Kayla is doing great in her helmet. She has adjusted very well to the helmet. We have air conditioning in the house so normally she does fine. However when we do go places without air she is miserable and we wind up taking the helmet off for a couple of hours. This makes for a happy baby and in turn a happy mommy and daddy! : ) My insurance company officially denied my claim and my appeal. I have been working with the customer service rep assigned to my employer's account. I am hoping this will help get an approval. I will keep you posted to final outcome. Kathy Hi Kathy:I just saw your reply to Ken, so thought I'd ask you how Kayla is doing in her helmet? She's gotta be sweating a lot right now in this horrible heat & humidity. HOpe she's doing well.Debbie Abby's mom DOCGradGR MIFor more plagio info
Guest guest
Kathy: Thank goodness for air conditioning huh?! There's just no way you could keep her in the helmet w/o it on days like these. I'm glad she's doing so well in it. The weather will hopefully cool off soon so you don't have to take it off while you go out, but in the mean time, it's probably a good idea to take it off. In our Grand Rapids Press last week I think, there was a huge section about U of M and their health dept & such. I was so hoping there would be mention of their helmets, but unfortunately there wasn't . There was a short blub about Mcare ins. in it & I immediately thought of you. I'm sorry they denied you. Was it Helen, another group member in yuor area, that had Mcare as well. Did she get hers approved? Keep fighting. Good luck. Thanks for the update. Guest guest
well i got social security disability. i am still fighting with my former employer. they eliminated my job while i was out. they have sent people out to folloiw me and video tape. i am going tomorrow for a functional capacity test. it will take about 3hours. they told me to bring a snack. and any meds or glasses i may need. kathy in il
Guest guest
Kathy, I'm glad you won your fight for disability benefits. Before I got sick I never had a care, work for an insurance company with lots of benes. I never understood that people could be realy sick every day and still life goes on, bills have to be paid. I thought if you got sick you took meds to make you better and if not, well then you go on disability. Now I am pained when I see the publicity my company puts out about disABILITY and how we can all lead productive lives. I'm glad you one the fight, I'm sure there was many a day you should not have had to go into work. Guest guest
<PRE>dr appt today had another urine test, waiting for that, also had him exam everywhere.bloop pressure is back to normal. he thinks everything else is from prednisone so since i am down to 5 mgs this week and 2.5 next week. then i will be off. he also says neurontin has a good reputation for helping those with pain where other meds have failed. i think i will still wait and get off steroids before starting another new drug. he is going to try and send me to a nutritionist. but we will have to see if my insurance will pay. (right!!) i am sore and running my normal fever. kathy in il

Guest guest
Hi Kathy, My guess is when he saw the subject said " A message from Carol " he deleted it without opening it. I could be wrong. Other than my disappointment with the genealogy, I'm not that upset. I know that I was willing to make amends, and that's what counts. You could be right and I could hear from him still, but I'm not exactly holding my breath. I said a prayer when I sent the email that he not reply if it isn't the best thing for me and for my family. Maybe it's just a response to that prayer.
