Reiki-Seichim Symbols

Reiki and Seichim both use symbols as a way of " boosting " or " directing " the universal life force energy. They have 4 symbols in common, and Seichim, as I was taught it, has an additional 5 symbols. There are many variations and versions of each symbol. Any variation or version appears to work as well as any other, in my experience. I use the ones I learned first and am most comfortable with, and I suggest that any practitioner do the same.

There has been a lot of controversy over the last few years as to whether the symbols are or should be secret, sacred, or neither. At one time, all the symbols were kept secret to the extent that the Master told the student to memorize them and destroy any written images of them. I do not feel that they should be secret. It makes no more sense to me to hide the symbols than it would to hide a cross or IBM logo. A symbol *stands for* something. It is not the something itself. Even if it was, universal life force energy is already everywhere... how do you hide that??? As for sacred, I always think of this quote that I can't remember where I heard it " I believe in nothing, everything is sacred; I believe in everything, nothing is sacred. " Sacred is, I believe, in the eyes of the beholder. And for me, I love to share and glorify sacred things by showing them. In respect of one of my teachers who feels differently, I do not share the versions of the symbols that teacher gave me. I only share the versions of the symbols given to me by teachers who share my views.

The symbols are used by the Reiki/Seichim practitioner by drawing them, usually with their finger, sometimes in their mind's eye. They're drawn over the area that the practitioner wishes to especially channel energy to, in some cases, for a particular purpose. Keep in mind, though, that any symbol the practitioner may use is a *request* that the energy be channelled and used a certain way by the client. Ultimately, healing is always up to the energy and the client, regardless of the practitioner's actions or lack thereof.

These are the symbols, drawn by hand and scanned. They can be drawn perfectly, but as with all aspects of energy healing, intent is more important. All should be drawn starting at the top left in as much of a continuous line as possible for that symbol. The names of the symbols may be chanted while drawing them, in fact some teachers recommend this. Pronunciations are below the synbol names that are challenging to pronounce. The first four, cho ku rei, sei hei ki, honsha ze sho nen, and dai ko myo are common to both Reiki and Seichim. The last 5 are Seichim symbols.

Information on the additional 5 Seichim symbols: Zeigler is generally considered the founder of Seichim, although he no longer teaches it as such, but teaches SKHM.  taught Seichim (apparently it was called " Renegade Reiki " at the time) to T'om Seaman.  T'om and his roommate at the time, Ken Lowry (my Seichim teacher) channeled the additional symbols.  I don't know which of the two channeled which symbols, as neither Ken nor T'om remember.  " Out there in the light " and " from the Universe " are the only answers I have as to where they came from.

Please feel free to print these symbols out for personal use. However,

if you want to distribute them, even on a website or at a class, email

me at robyn@...

and we'll work it out. Thanks :)
