Guest guest
Dear Friends, Start a Being QuestLesson 3 Think about how "DOING" focused our world is. This is not wrong, but it is misplaced. We are so focused on the doing, that we have forgotten our beings. And after all we are not human doings, but human beings. When we are ill, aging, financially limited a big part of the suffering is the fear that we are worthless in that state. Why? Because we equate doing with worth. DOING = WORTH At school were you taught that if you DID well then you had worth? Sadly, very few parts of our world teach that you have value and worth simply because you exist! If we knew this in our bones, if we claimed our innate worth, we would rise to our full stature with deep reverence for our own and others lives. But we are focused on doing. When you decide on your worth based on doing, you are on a Doing quest. When you live a Doing quest, these are the thoughts that fill the torture chamber of your mind: Am I doing enough? Was what I did good enough? I hope he likes what I did? If only I could get what I am doing right? Why does what I am doing not bring me fulfillment? By working with your apple tree, you begin a "Being" Quest. In this way you bring more of YOU to your relationships, to your career, to your spirituality, and to your life.1000 people can DO the same thing, but if 1 of them is Being her apple tree self while doing, that is the difference, that is the magic. Your presence is what matters. Being all you were born to be is what matters. You don't need fixing, you need freeing.Spending time in the day, learning to FOCUS inwards - noticing your feelings, being more aware of your sense of self is how you support your being quest. Your apple tree journey is a Being Quest. We are going to share many weeks together giving you ways to free your Being.Every question, starts you on a quest, that's why they are called Quest-ions. So ask the questions that take you on a quest that you really want to go on. When you ask questions like "why am I stupid?" do you really want to go on that quest :-) Rather open to powerful questions that will take you to your apple tree. Quest-tions (spend a few minutes writing down your answers)How have you measured your worth by what you can and can't do?How can you support yourself in feeling worth because you exist, because you are simply alive?Meditation10 minutes Sit quietly by yourself, close your eyes and be aware of your body. Take some deep breaths to relax. Feel your breath and notice how it feels to feel your breath. Place your attention in the heart and centre of your body. Feel this part of you and allow whatever is there to be there. Don't push it away, just allow. If your mind is busy, let it be, notice and simply take your awareness back to your body and to your centre. Then after some silence, say out loud (or in your heart if you prefer) "I am..." and simply feel the words of this declaration of truth.
