How to Experience God Directly and ImmediatelyMysticism is not for everyone. However, if it is for you, you can experience the Divine directly and immediatelyMysticism is not for everyone.Mysticism has been wrongly labeled as a ‘secret’ or ‘magical’ type of knowledge. Mysticism is not knowledge at all. The mystical path is the direct experience of the Divine, versus a man-made, philosophy on a platter kind of knowledge. Mystics feel that God is not found in study. God is found only in experience. The mystic believes that the person who studies the Divine is like a person who attempts to understand the taste of cake by reading the recipe, or hopes to experience a symphony by gazing at the sheet music. It is the difference between reading a book about skydiving and going up in a plane, a mile and a half in the sky, opening

the door to a 150 mile per hour wind, closing ones eyes and stepping out into the void, unable to breathe, unable to see, plummeting a blinding speed towards a certain death. There is no comparison. The mystic is the person who actually jumps from the plane. You cannot know what it is to be in love from reading a love story. You must be in love - you must experience it to understand it. Once you have been in love, all love stories pale in comparison. Likewise you cannot know what the Divine is by reading about it - you must experience it.The path is spiritual, but not religious.. It conflicts with no religion, as a mystical path is found in all religions. When the mystic has experienced the Divine directly he will most likely no longer think about or discuss religion at all. The Divine is frankly not what religion makes it out to be. He realizes that many people are not in love with God; they are instead in love with

religion. This is like a child believing in Santa Claus. No matter how many pictures are drawn, no matter how many letters are written, no matter how many cookies are left out or how sincere that child might be in his begging for some wanted gift, that imaginary figure – as the child pictures it - will never appear, for what the child already pictures in the mind - what the child has been told, what he has been taught- does not exist. When the child is told that Santa is actually a loving parent, the child will often reject the message initially and declare that Santa simply must exist. The child may not see the loving parent that actually exists but instead will desire to see a fantasy that has been accepted as true instead.. This is natural, of course. This is due to learning and training. Like the child who believes in the idea of Santa Claus, people can and often do reject reality, even when made aware of truth. For this reason the

mystic never attempts to persuade or convince or to change any mind. This is like a man who is dying of thirst while swimming. He has already decided what drinking water should look like but he cannot find his picture.. He cannot find what he has already decided is true so he states that perhaps it does not exist. Therefore he may die of thirst even while surrounded with the very thing he is seeking. Likewise, men often cannot see the Divine even while swimming in It and so they experience doubt. But it was they themselves who created that doubt. The Divine is not outside somewhere; it is not separate. The mystic sees outward seeking as being like a man who lights a lantern at night and goes out in search of a firefly. He will never find it, because the light right in front of his face outshines everything. The man's physical eye can only see in an outward direction and so he looks for the Divine outside himself. The mind believes in

separation and so it believes that God is separate - an object. Most believe that the man, the subject, is separate from the Divine, the object. This too is to be expected, as this is the seeing of the world. It does not apply in spirituality, for the subject and the object are one. Knowledge implies a distinction between the knower and the known. Knowledge cannot bring one to realization. For these reasons, the mystic realizes that it is not necessary to think, study, achieve, go anywhere or do anything. It is not necessary to add anything, for the Divine is already present within. It was given him perfectly in his creation. It is what he is. It is not something to be achieved - it is something to be uncovered. Therefore, he instead rids himself of everything that covers up the Divine within. It then simply reveals itself. The mystic is like a man who picks up a rock. When he wipes the mud from the rock he finds a gold nugget under

the mud - the gold that he both was and is forever. This is a completely different approach. It is spirituality, not religion. The mystic is not adding knowledge or book learning or memorizing verses or prayers. That is the way of the mind. God is not found in the mind. The mystic is removing the untruth he has learned and accepted in order to directly experience the Divine truth he both has and is.When everything else is taken away and removed, all that remains is what is called Brahman, the Buddha Nature, Allah, the Tao - God.Earthly knowledge is rendered useless in the presence of spiritual being. Once you have jumped from the plane, all learning becomes unnecessary. Learning can never substitute for experience. It can only lead to the experience. But the learning is not the goal. All learning must be left behind. How long does this take to learn? Less than one minute. How long does this take to achieve? Less than one

second. How long does it take to accept this without fear? For some people this can take a very long time. Others never accept this and so they die unfulfilled. When you accept this, you will realize that what you have been seeking for and thirsting for and praying for and crying for - has been with you all along. It was merely covered up by your body and your mind.. When you subtract the body, you subtract all fear. When you subtract the mind, you subtract everything that is false. What is left is only what is true. You cannot become God or know God though effort. This is because you do not need to know God. You do not need to become God. You are already God. This is what you must uncover. The teacher talks ABOUT skydiving. The skydiver talks skydiving. The learner talks ABOUT God. The mystic talks God.You are always and you have always been just a single minute away from God. It is your own belief that it is separate from you that

keeps it separate from you. When you give up the idea of separation, then you will directly experience your God.Instant Joy 's Website.By Published: 10/26/2009
