In researching the web I came across the July 2008 pdf file of Nutritional Supplements in Disseminated Lyme Disease by J.J. Burrascano Jr. MD http://www.lymepa.org/Nutritional_Supplements.pdf Dr. Burrascano is Director, International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society. The information is most worthwhile. Guest guest
I wanted to ask a question to the group concerning Dr. B's new guidelines. I read a part that stated flagyl and tetracyclenes should not be taken together because the tetracyclenes lessen the effect of the flagyl. Does anyone know any other llmd's that feel this way? I asked our own llmd about this and he said that he doesn't think that is the case, however, I feel Dr. B is such the lyme guru, he must have a reason for stating this. Are there other combos that have been taken w/ flagyl that have been successful in very long term difficult lyme cases? My daughter is on flagyl and doxy and now we are both worried about that. My llmd is very open, so if I can bring some other suggestions I think he'd be willing to change the combo. My daughter has bart., babesia, lyme and who knows what else that is keeping her ill. Thanks for any responses and happy new year to everyone. ~Janet In a message dated 12/17/2008 9:51:39 A.M.
