Guest guest
There is such a minute amount of alcohol in the remedy that it is not a problem at all. The brandy base is used as a preservative. There are people who have the essences and prepare them on their own into distilled water. Personally, I opt for the simpler version and the alcohol has not been a problem at all. The discussion list has been most informative and there are some professional practitioners who are there to give advise and assistance. The best thing to do is ask those who use them for their livelihood. They know the remedies the best, the means of preparataion and the like. Guest guest
Hello Loreen: I'd recommend starting out with the Bach flower remedies. A great textbook on Back remedies is: "The Encyclopedia of Bach Flower Therapy", by Mechthild Scheffer. ISBN: 0-89281-941-3. This book has a beautiful picture of each of the 38 Bach remedies, with a wonderful description/indication of each. Best wishes, Loreen <loreend@...> wrote: Does anyone know of a wholesale source for Bach Flower or other flower remedies in Canada? Guest guest
Loreen: I also like " The Flower Essence Repetory " . I don't remember the authors and the book is at the office, so I'd have to get back to you on that. I like it because it includes the Bach and the California essences so you ahve a lot more choices. It is alos organized as half repetory and half essence descriptions, so there's a lot of info in one book. Guest guest
Hi Loreen, I order my flower remedies, both Bach and California, from a Canadian Distributor who is in Alberta, I think. I got the phone number from the people in California. I don't have a name, but have recently ordered, so I know that this is current. The phone number is 1-800-593-5956. I use the Flower Essence Repertory, which is what I use to use at NCNM. The authors are Kaminski and Katz. There are 2 phone numbers inside the book that I will give to you: 1-800-548-0075 (may be only useable in the US), and 530-265-0258. Alternatively, the 1-800 number in Canada may have the book and others in stock. Dorothy Fairley, ND Vancouver, B.C. Guest guest
If you're looking for a starter kit of all the Bach remedies, I found an online company offering the entire kit of 10ml bottles for 84 British pounds which comes to about $150 American... (depending on the exchange rate and how you choose to pay). It seems like an inexpensive way to get started. The address is orders@... I also like the Scheffer book about the Bach essences, and I use an older book by Dr. Bach and Dr. Wheeler that includes Bach's philosophical treatise on the use of the remedies.
