1. Speaker Updates

CPAK is just a few weeks away! As usually happens we had a few last minute speaker changes.

Due to an unexpected conflict Deveraux is unable to make it but we are very pleased to announce another highly respected archeo-acoustics expert, Loose, will be taking his place talking on the topic of the "Sounds of the Ancients". worked as an archeologist for 11 years in northwestern New Mexico, including excavations and remote sensing projects at Chaco Canyon, New Mexico and he was a member of the National Park Service/University of New Mexico team that worked on navigating the park. Mr. Loose has a backround in electro-optics and applications for high energy lasers and he has a strong understanding of acoustics. He now works as a consultant and volunteer for the National Park Service, and the Navajo Nation. One recent project included acoustical research at Chaco Canyon. (As you will learn, the ancients were into big sound!) Results of this work have been recently

published by the University of Utah Press and in Time and Mind, a British journal of archeological research. Mr. Loose makes and plays digeridoos, shell trumpets, and wooden flutes.

Also we just heard Temple is unable to present this year. Apparently a dig he has been carefully planning for Greece requires his immediate attention and he must oversee it through the conference dates. We have several very interesting speakers that would love to take his place(you will not be disappointed!), that we will announce once the presentation is reviewed and travel is booked.

This stuff happens, and Divine Mother always seems to know best, but if for any reason you are disappointed and you want to cancel your registration please feel free and we will reimburse you for the full amount including the cancellation fee charged by the registration service.

2. Travel

The conference has made arrangements with the nearby Radisson Hotel in Newport Beach to provide discounted rates for CPAK attendees. If you need a room please call them ASAP as rooms usually sell out quickly. Their number is 949-833-0570. Other nearby hotels are listed here: http://bit.ly/CPAK09hotels(Because we have not used this booking service, we are not endorsing it, but the list is a good one.)To map distance between hotel and conference location, the Beckman Center address is:100 AcademyIrvine, CA. 92617We hope this information is helpful, and please don’t forget to register here if you haven’t already! www.cpakonline.com

3. Post Conference Gathering

For those that are interested we are planning a casual get together at a restaurant (near UCI) the evening immediately after the event to further chat about the discoveries and insights of the day. This is not part of the formal conference but we would like to get a head count of how many people may want to attend so we can make appropriate plans. Please email Sandy at sandy@... if you think you would like to join us.

Also feel free to call (949-399-0306) or email us if there is anything we can do to help you with your conference plans.

And in the meantime, Bring on the Higher Ages!

'May we live in peace without weeping. May our joy outline the lives we touch without ceasing. And may our love fill the world, angel wings tenderly beating.'
