She sounds like a very strong person to have endured the past 5-6 months with tubes and it's thrilling to hear of someone with her endurance and tenacity.

Isn't she amazing?? With the help of her family, she has been the one making the final decision on her own treatment. They even had a court hearing in her hospital room because the judge wanted to hear what SHE wanted, not what everybody else wanted. No one is going to pull those tubes out unless she gives the ok. She has tremendous faith and courage. When I worked with her I never would have thought she could handle something like this with such dignity, perserverance and strength. Most of us would rather be in a coma to avoid having to make the decisions she has to make for herself.

Hello, I would like to ask you all if you could please help me out

with the following problems:

1. Can you please sign your name at the end of you post, this is the

only way a legally blind person can know it's the end of the message.

2. Please trim your messages, lately this is something that has gone

an noticed, this causes me a great deal of difficulty because I don't

know if its the same message I'm hearing twice or that my system is

acting up.

3. Please when replying to a message put a space between the old and

the new message. This another thing that is very difficult for me to

understand at times.

Thanks for your co-operation and understanding.

Dear Maddalena. We will do our best to help you with all of your

requests. I apologize for not paying more attention to some of the

messages that were not trimmed properly. Is it easier if the person

answers a previous message after the one they are responding to, or

before the message?

Love, Bee

Hi Bee, it's much easier for me to understand if the answer is after the

original message.

With many thanks.

Hi Cam,

I'm so happy you sent out this important reminder. When I was doing

my surgery research, I learned so much from all the stories, photos

and postings. I had posted my pre-revision story in May and I've

been intending to write my post-op story for a while now. Your

request gave me the nudge I needed - thanks! I created an 'Ann

Marie " folder under the Member's Story section and I also posted two

other documents under the main section. I'm looking forward to

reading more members stories as they are posted. Thanks!

Ann Marie

Ann Marie,

Thank you so much for taking the time to put these documents together

and in a place where they can be easily found by members in the future.

I am going to take the liberty to repost your 10 week report as a new

post so those that don't go to the files regularly benefit from your

work and wisdom.

I know sometimes it feels like you are not making progress, especially

the time period you are coming into now. I remember thinking at 10

months that I would NEVER be able to do anything again. Wrong....at 12

months I was snowshoeing up mountians and at 14 months I could

comfortably ride a bike. It will happen for you too!

Take Care,

Cam

Actually, I was thinking the same thing, just didn't get around to mentioning

it.

I put filters into the email options, and I found this post in the bulk folder

again.

I think doesn't like you. LOL

It's probably already been made but this year food banks are at an all time low.

So if you can-anything at all-even one can-will be helpful. My family will not

be giving presents for anything we celebrate in lieu of providing offerings this

year.

Diane, isn't that Joyce Forge's role in Basildon?

In the past (?1988-98?) I knew a number of liaison health visitors, and

recall three common functions:

1. support for 'vulnerable' families attending with infants, including

homeless families, refugees and those children in need of safeguarding;

2. arranging home visits for frail older people attending for minor

falls/burns e.g. a rapid community OT assessment or CPN dementia specialist;

3. support for unaccompanied young people such as self-harming teenage

runaways or transient young drug users: liaison mental health nurses may now

be filling the gap for this, third, clientele?

There was a RCN Forum for liaison health visitors back then, chaired by my

friend Sheelagh Rengert, but in the various RCN re-organisations that Forum

may have disappeared.

Best wishes,

Woody.

Subject: A request

Dear Colleagues,

Can you advise on the following please? I am not a health visitor and need

some assistance here.

An acute hospital in the south of England will be appointing a health visitor

liaison for A & E. What do you advise applicants should know and be able to

demonstrate (policy and practice) in interview?

I would be very grateful for your help.

All v best,

Diane
