root canals and antibiotics

Hi

I know root canals are advised against for those with lyme but because a " main "

tooth  is involved I might do the root canal instead of the extraction.

Anyone know if antibiotics are advised for Lyme patients before or after or

during the root canal? My dentist and endodontist think Lyme is rare so I can't

even ask them. (I don't really understand all this but I do know I read heart

patients should take an antibiotic before dental treatment so I was wondering if

this is held true for Lyme patients too.)
