Merkaba dilemma

I have seen site after site for years now that show two counter rotating pyramids as the Merkaba. That particular form (pyramidal) of Merkaba has not been my experience when using a Merkaba vehicle. Isn't the pyramidal form of Merkaba a lower astral or subtle plane Merkaba? Aren't we supposed to be forming a 5th dimensional mental plane/dimension Merkaba? Am I missing something here? I am just wondering if all these Internet sites and Merkaba vehicle teachers are as advanced as they purport to be. I am wondering if they are just parroting what they have been taught and have no direct experience of their own actually... forming...using or... seeing dimensional Merkaba's? I may be the odd one here, but something is not right because my experience is that some Merkaba's are round with

two counter rotational circular rings that rotate over and around a central ball of light...they have 3 separate parts not 2 and none of the parts touch. When the rings begin rotating they throw off sparks of white light once they get going really fast. Does anyone else know what I am talking about? I feel like I am the only one having this experience. Anybody?
