The scientists believe that our personality and our behaviour are controlled by our genes which we inherit from our parents or the DNA which is inside the genes and the DNA in the mitochondria of the cells. The influence of the DNA coupled with our environment or our life experiences or our upbringing make us what we are.

But according to esoterists there is another far more important factor, which the scientists are ignoring. That is the influence of the seven rays or the seven types of divine energies, which influence everything within us and in our environment.

Out of these seven rays, 3 rays are referred to as primary rays or the rays of aspect, and there are four other rays referred to as the rays of attribute.

The three primary rays of aspect are

1. 1st ray of Power, Will or Purpose

2. 2nd ray of Love-Wisdom

3. 3rd ray of Active, Creative Intelligence

The rays of attribute are

1. 4th ray of Harmony through Conflict, or Beauty or Art

2. 5th ray of Concrete Science or Knowledge

3. 6th ray of Abstract Idealism or Devotion

4. 7th ray of Ceremonial Order or Magic or Ritual or Organisation

Consequently there are seven ray types of people usually depending on the rays, which govern people's personalities. Different rays come into incarnation at different times according to the plan of our Planetary Logos and these rays colour various civilisations, cultures and nations and produce different effects at different times.

There are three major planetary centres, which are Shamballa, Hierarchy and Humanity and they represent the three major aspects. Shamballa is the centre for Power, Will or Purpose, Spiritual Hierarchy is the centre for Love-Wisdom and Humanity is the centre for Active intelligence.

Shamballa is the etheric spiritual centre in the in the sky of the Gobi desert where the reflection of our Planetary Logos resides with His council of ministers and forms the inner world government controlling all kingdoms in nature on the earth. Spiritual Hierarchy is composed of the Masters of Wisdom and the Lords of Compassion.

Every man is controlled by five different forces, belonging to five different rays controlling man's soul, his personality, mental body, astral body, and the physical body. The ray of the soul remains the same for countless aeons while the rays of other vehicles may change from life to life and helps to develop different qualities until all the qualities are developed. These rays gives us certain attitudes, patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaviour, manifested as strengths and weaknesses or vices and virtues. Not only people but also countries, regions, nations, races, and different institutions are also controlled by different rays.

Knowledge of the ray structure of various great historical figures who shaped different cultures and civilisations helps us to understand how their rays made them what they were and how they affected their thinking, behaviour and their destiny. It also explains why different nations and races behave differently and why some nations are natural allies and other are archenemies.

Behind the events happening at present time there are two major ray energies that are in operation. They are 7th ray of ceremonial order coming into manifestation since 1675 and the 6th ray of abstract idealism or devotion gradually passing out since 1625. At present these two highly potent energies are functioning simultaneously in equal potency one waning and other gaining in strength.

Consequently the world is divided into two main groups. 6th ray which loves old out of date and outworn structures and ideas and fighting the last ditch attempt for their preservation. The other progressive forces those who are able to respond to the incoming energies and who feel the need for new structures and ideas, which represent the new civilisation. The Hierarchy has the difficult task of restraining both groups that they both don't do two much harm and to produce ordered change.

The characteristic quality of the 6th ray is the devotion to an ideal, their own ideal and the fanatical adherence to this ideal at the expense of all others. This devotion could be to a selfish desire to make money or to an altruistic devotion to a cause leading to self-sacrifice. This is seen in religion, politics as well as in business. The crucifixion of Jesus was seen as the sacrifice of Jesus for the atonement of our sins. The 6th ray energy has produced both the mystic and the fanatic. The fanatical adherence and militant advocacy to their own ideal has led to a succession of religious wars, the crusades, which are continuing to this day in various parts of the world including the Middle East.

The same 6th ray influence has been responsible not only for sectarianism, nationalism, patriotism, dogmatism, doctrinal exclusiveness and narrowness of view in all schools of religion, politics, philosophy and science. It has also produced the ideals and ideas of love, brotherhood and justice.

The incoming 7th ray energy relates spirit to matter thus synthesising the two opposites. 6th ray fostered separatism, exclusiveness and the 7th ray will produce fusion and blended oneness. 6th ray influenced the growth of individualism and 7th ray will produce group spirit and group consciousness. 6th ray produced the mystic and the fanatic and 7th ray will produce the white magician and the marvels of modern science.

The destructive 1st ray force of Will or Power was powerfully expressed through the leaders of Nazi Germany, Italy and Japan and brought extensive destruction to the world. It is the energy of the Antichrist, the destructive aspect of the 1st ray, which destroys the old outworn structures of an old civilisation to make way for a new civilisation. Since 1975 the creative galvanising aspect of this energy has been manifesting through humanity.
