Guest guest
Yes, I agree!! Several years back I was injured as I was doing my nursing job and sent to physical therapy. The area I was injured was in my mid back but I had had awful pain for a long time in my lower back and seen chiropracters who temporarily relieved the pain. Well, the PT did a maneuver with a twist only one time and I had no pain at all from any of it for years. All the exercises did nothing and then this PT just did one twist and I was better! It seems carrying my last child probably had done it---he was much larger than the rest. You just have to find the right person to fix your problem, whatever it may be. Guest guest
Your story reminds me of my experience with sciatica. I went through 2 and a half pregnancies in major pain in the hip/buttock area. Had me in tears sometimes. It would flare between pregnancies, too, at times. My doc just sort of brushed it off. I was in the library one day, pregnant with #3 and studying to be a lactation consultant. As I always did, I went immediately to the library shelf where the books on pregnancy and childbirth were, to see which books were 'good' (ie. which books agreed with my philosophy!). I flipped open the book and saw the heading 'back pain'. It described my condition perfectly and said it was REALLY common, and called sciatica. Took that to the PT who gave me a treatment and an exercise to do 43x a day (LOL). I did the exercise once. Pain never returned. And I went on to two more pregnancies! Guest guest
My son just gave me this book called Pain Free--A Revolutionary Method for Stopping Chronic Pain, by Pete Egoscue. It's really basic stuff about alignment and has simple, gentle exercises and stretches ---physical therapy. I'm going to try it. Can't take NSAIDs anymore because it runs down my platelet count, and tylenol doesn't work for me. Also, on the cover it says they wrote another book Pain Free at Your PC---might be worth checking that one out, too. Got to do something different.
