Saw this article last night and thought it was an opportunity to put in a comment re LDN and trials for drugs (please see ’s comment below the article). The story is very sad about a drug trials blunder for a testicular cancer trial :-The family of a graphic designer who died after a drugs trial blunder claimed he was 'slowly poisoned to death' and have demanded an investigation into the doctor who treated him. , 27, died after being given a double dose of chemotherapy on seven occasions in the trial at University College London Hospitals NHS Trust.Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-1344344/Family-cancer-patient-slowly-poisoned-death-drugs-trial-300-000-settlement.html#ixzz1AGXq2uDQ I have secondary progresive MS and have taken dangerous drugs that just made me worse. Very often, trials are minimal and fudged by the money people and end up using us as guinea pigs once the proving trials are complete too. I now use LDN, a cheap, safe drug option that I was never told about because it is unnatractive, and unprofitable. However, around 100,000 of us patients do use it, but we are considered unqualified to translate such demand into research, so i'm afraid that this story is the tip of a very large iceberg. Patients today do their own research, and sometimes we get fooled, but we also lead with our lives and so we should be able to translate that into research when we need it. We at ldnnow have tried to, but all routes are blocked by disintersted academics, people who lack the personal drive like we do. In short, it's time to change so patients can get research commissoned outside the loop of the competitive academic route and the influence of drug companies. If anyone would like to post a comment, please do.
