Guest guest
Does Milk Thistle interact with LDN in anyway? From: astro nut <ex_hacker202@...>low dose naltrexone Sent: Wed, February 9, 2011 12:54:07 PMSubject: [low dose naltrexone] RE: Hep C, 14 months ldn "Posted by Sterling: "bicyclenutmail-ldn@..." bicyclenutmail-ldn@... iburgle Mon Feb 7, 2011 6:01 pm (PST) I do not have a viral load quantity before taking LDN but from 1995 thru 2004 my AST (sgot) was 116 it is now 49 and my ALT (sgpt) was 161 and is now 54. My viral load at this time is 609000 and 10 years ago it was 314000 so I will wait 1 year and test again. There is nothing that will explain the difference in the AST & ALT scores except LDN. Needless to say, I am pleased." Curious about your AST and ALT levels, and may have something that can help you. Back in late 2006/early 2007 when my doctor was hitting me with massive doses of multiple types of antibiotics for my Lyme infection my liver enzymes soared and we had to lay low for months while my liver recovered - AST shot up from 33 to 151, ALT from 32 to 155. I also started looking for herbal liver support supplements to help clean and heal my liver, ended up with this one, which is fantastic, Himalaya Herbal Healthcare LiverCare: Himalaya Herbal Healthcare LiverCare® Description LiverCare® has enormous health benefits for everyone * Supports the liver in functions relating to nutritional status, such as the liver's normal ability to burn fat and help support the body's metabolic process * Supports healthy liver enzyme levels and the liver's ability to regenerate itself LiverCare® assists normally functioning liver cells; it has antioxidant properties that support liver cell integrity and is a formula which assists in preserving existing liver strength when dealing with occasional overwhelming challenges. Keep in mind, the liver is the largest internal organ and it is important the liver is functioning on a normal level when performing more then 500 different functions. Silymarin, the active component of Milk Thistle, acts by maintaining healthy liver cell function. LiverCare® does the same thing. LiverCare® also supports the liver’s function when challenged by toxins not just in our food, water and air, but also increased consumption of protein and prohormones. A benefit LiverCare® has over Milk Thistle is it does not interfere with medication when taken together. Best price is from http://www.vitacost.com/Himalaya-Herbal-Healthcare-LiverCare. My enzymes dropped down to a much nice 33/32 level and have stayed there! Also I keep reading about folks fighting Candida overgrowth, something that I had problems with for over 3 years. One of the things I took to combat that problem was a product called ThreeLac, now superceded by FiveLac - they are made from live yeast that literally eat candida for lunch! After being on that for over 2 years, I was able to stop taking it near the end of last year and I'm still yeast-free (I did a bunch of other things that helped greatly, like colonic hydrotherapy to flush the yeast colonies embedded in the walls of my colon). I highly recommend both products - GLTA __________________________________________________________ Food fight? Guest guest
No - many people use it. It is also one of the components of the "triple antioxidant" therapy of milk thistle (silymarin), ala (alpha-lipoic-acid - taken with b complex), and selenium. It is very good for the liver. Guest guest
I've been taking ALA for years, plus other metabolic supplements like L-Arginine, NAC, Ashwagandha for adrenal gland exhaustion, works great, Pantethine, Pantothenic Acid, and a high quality Vitamin B complex, plus other "food in a capsule or powder" products.Whenever I'm struggling with low energy or toxin elimination I double up on the Ashwagandha and Liv.52 to re-vitalize my adrenal glands and help clean up my liver. I have to be careful with ALA and NAC, as both have heavy metal mobilizing effects, if my liver is already under stress and I don't take a metal binder like chlorella or CSM things just get worse. My LLMD and I both have come to the conclusion that many people with CFS, Fibromyalgia, and "brain fog" are actually suffering from heavy metal poisoning - my Lyme disease has been in remission for over two years now, but because of the high toxic burden (primarily lead, mercury, and cadmium) in my body, health-wise, I'm no better off now than I was while the Lyme was still active. From: smalk50@... <smalk50@...>Subject: Re: [low dose naltrexone] RE: Hep C, 14 months ldndebruyckerm@..., ex_hacker202@..., low dose naltrexone Date: Thursday, February 10, 2011, 11:18 AM No - many people use it.
