Guest guest
Apple Juice and Jello. Rather than just the regular broth, I used the powdered seasoned broth that comes with the Ramen noodle packages (I threw the noodles away). They were 7 packs for a buck at my local grocery store. That broth tastes so much better than just plain broth. I varied between the chicken and beef. The clear stage is only for a few days and you can do it. The milky stage makes it all so much better. I used Unjury (unjury.com) and mixed it with milk or juice. Good luck! C Tampa From: " smedred " <smedred@...> Reply- Subject: I did it ! Date: Tue, 23 Oct 2007 23:16:37 -0000 Well, I have been considering, and researching getting the band for several years. Last weekend, I finally went to see Dr. A and after a 37 minute surgery, I have a new friend. Now I am struggling with trying to live on the liquid diet, and get rid of the gas pains and normal pain from the stitches. Question- I do ok until about 4pm This is my second day with the band, and each day at this time I have gotten nauseous (sp?). Any ideas?? Any suggestions on the best clear liquids for the first 10 days besides broth?
Guest guest
Hi there, I did a lot of popsicles and icd tea. Just be very careful not to have gatorade or any other drinks with a lot of sugar. They will make you very hungry! The wolfgang puck vegetable broth is pretty good and filling. Don't worry, the time will go by very quick! Good luck, Missysmedred <smedred@...> wrote: Well, I have been considering, and researching getting the band for several years. Guest guest
Congrats!!! You will be very happy you did this I used to get icky feeling in the evening, then I added a glass of juice in the evening and I felt much better. Best of luck and I hope you are feeling better, remember to try and get your protein in, that will help with the nausea too. I did Isopure for the first 10 days, I bought the fruity flavors and took a big cup and filled it w/ice and then poured the Isopure over the ice and sipped that all morning, then around lunch time, filled my glass w/ice again and poured the rest of the bottle over the ice and sipped that all afternoon and then in the evening I would have chicken broth and a glass of juice. Some people think Isopure tastes horrible, I thought it tasted like watered down kool-aid Keep asking questions and we will keep trying to help Cyrenawww.cyrenaweeks.blogspot.com240/156/150DOB: 1/19/07 I did it ! Guest guest
Hi! I don't have any wonderful words of wisedom for you, I don't get banded until November 2. I do, however, want to hear how it is going for you. Are the gas pains bad? How about the incision pain? I live in Washington and will be flying back on November 5. I really hope 3 days is enough becasue after the flight I have to drive 1.5 hours to my house from my mother's, where my car will be. I am kinda trippin. I hope all is going great for you! I am sorry to hear you are nauseous. Can you take anything for nausea after the surgery? I am trying to go as prep ared as possible. I hear there is no Gas X in Mexico, so I got the gas x thin strips. I wonder if they work? Anyway- Congratulations and I hope you feel better soon! Guest guest
Congrats on being banded!! :-) Yes the ramen packets are better than regular broth. But be prepared to retain water. Ramen packets are so high in sodium, and I think they have MSG. But you aren't eating anything, so dont worry about retaining water at this stage. Just find things that work. Probably water would be the worst thing to drink when you are dealing with nausea. so try things like juice or Popsicles. take care and enjoy your band. > > Apple Juice and Jello. Guest guest
Hi )) and congrats! I also got banded last week (friday 19th) and am sitting home now aching and wonderfing what to drink.. just like you. A couple of nights ago I couldn't sleep I was so hungry.. I tossed and turned for hours half from pain half from hunger.... but other nights I seem to be ok. The thing that surprised me the most is that the pain is not so quick to disappear. It is now day six, and still painful abdomen... I'm not sure why, I can just tell you that it is difficult to get up from a chair or to turn in bed. The tylenol helps a bit but I finished it this morning... I do not, however, have nausea... Good luck, and i hope you'll feel better soon Gail > > Well, I have been considering, and researching getting the band for > several years. Guest guest
Do you live in the State of Washington? If so, are you north or south of SeaTac? I live north of SeaTac and would love to pick your brain once you go through the process. I too am hoping to get banded this year. Cari - In , " cooladdict " <cooladdict@...> wrote: > > > > Hi! Guest guest
I DO live in Washington! I live by the coast. Aberdeen, to be specific. I would love to compare notes and go through this with someone kind of local that has a 'bandiversary' that is close to mine. How is the nausea? Did you get that under control? > > > > > > Well, I have been considering, and researching getting the band > for > > > several years. Guest guest
It is sure nice to know there are " locals " going through all this, too. It makes it seem more real somehow. Guest guest
> > >Jen the butt-insky again. I have heard that nausea can be treated effectively with liquid Gravol and for non-prescription releive - Dramamine or Calm X. I plan on taking Dramanine or Gax-X with me to my Nov. 28 surgery. I am thinking it will help with anxiety and plane issues that may occur.
Guest guest
You should not have any problems. I took the airporter home to Lynnwood but only because I did not want to pay $20 a day at the airport. I think there are a lot of us around the Seattle-Everett area that went to Dr. A. I am a man so things might be different but if I can answer any questions I will. I think Gas-X is a myth as I think them messing around inside you feels like gas pains but they are not in your digestive tract. Everyone is different but I did not have gas pains only leg & stomach pain coming out of the anesthetic. I did not get sick or anything. Like I said, a little pain coming out of surgery & the rest a piece of cake. Guest guest
Reno...Nope, GasX is not a myth. They blow up your belly with gas during surgery so the doc can see what he is doing. After surgery is over they attempt to remove much of this gas but it doesn't all come out, pockets of gas remain. Your body will absorb the remaining gas. It is absorbed into the GI system. GasX will remove the remainder of the gas. It burps or toots out, but it will be removed one way or another. GasX speeds up the process. Guest guest
Hello dear members of Humanity Healing. As I though Humanity Healing is excellent I wanted to have (why not?) a Humanity Healing into my own language and that is Romanian language. I am from Bucharest Romania, and this Romania is an ex-communist country who joined the European Union 3 years before. I also am a volunteer of Humanity Healing. I love Humanity Healing, I find here food for my heart and soul, also useful information for my spiritual growth, this is why I think:"Why not enlarge this network since it's so useful ?
