Guest guest
" I am a BIG fan of HBOT. I visited a couple in north Lousiana who bought their own chamber for their autistic son and found much good from it. " A lot of clinics and doctors confused true HBOT chambers/therapy with much cheaper inflatable pressurized chambers - " real " Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) chambers are pressure vessels made from steel and use air/oxygen pressures of several atmospheres (1 atm ~ 14.7 psi). A session costs about $400 where I live, and there are only a couple clinics in the entire state that have them. The unit my doctor has, and the one I assume is mentioned above, is *not* an HBOT chamber, it only goes to 4-6 psi, but the first time I used it the herx reaction was almost immediate and very intense - the next morning (afternoon, to be precise) I woke up feeling like I'd been run over a truck! I can't imagine how I'd have felt if I'd had a " real " HBOT session. However, the next two days were the best I've had in well over a year, the treatment flushed a lot of stuff out of my system. I'm going back next week for another one. What I'm trying to get across here is be VERY careful with these types of treatments, and only get them while under the care of a doctor - too much of a good thing can be.....not too good. And to whomever asked whether the Cobra venom based Cobroxin product I recently mentioned could be taken with LDN, I don't see why not. LDN latches onto the opiate receptors in the brain to work, while Cobroxin latches onto the nicotine receptors (oral spray version) to prevent pain signals from reaching the brain. The Cobroxin gel works differently in that it prevents pain signals from being sent _from_ the traumatized body part _to_ the brain. The spray is for chronic pain like RA, while the gel is better for sprains, sore muscles, i.e. short term trauma, although I use it occasionally for the same chronically sore joints/muscles (in addition to taking the spray several times per day) when I do something to really aggravate the pain.
