Hi Chuck

We can't understand why you have stopped taking your LDN.

You have not said what kind of Cancer you have but, all the Brain Tumour patients we know on LDN carry on taking their LDN and DCA all through their Chemo Sessions, and some are on 'Long Term Tmz' Chemo.

If anything LDN will help the Chemo to work better and boost your Immune System up to help the Chemo work.

Kind Regards

Ness

[low dose naltrexone] LDN and Chemotherapy?

Hi, All, I have been on LDN for 3 or 4 months now and am scheduled to start chemotherapy on Valentine's Day. I will be getting Retuximab and bendamustine. I have stopped taking DCA and LDN, is this correct?Second question: I take a lot of supplements...are there any supplements that I should discontinue taking that would interfer with the effect of the chemo? Looking forward to responses. Chuck, Kona, HI

I had chemotherapy (I won't give it the honor of capitalization) for Breast Cancer three years ago. It was my understanding that if you’re going through chemo you want to make sure it can do what its supposed to do (kill fast-growing cells). You don’t want to add something that will fight the chemo or the hair loss and many other savory side-effects might be endured with less chance of optimal effectiveness.

Depending on your treatment (luckily mine was only four treatments) of course. Enter the chemo warriors and good luck beating the cancer.

Take your doctors advice while you’re under intensive medical care. After you’ve finished the (tested) protocol continue doing whats best in the name of supporting your immune system to prevent further problems.

That’s just my understanding/opinion and may not represent the opinions of others on this listserve.

God Bless and keep all you fighters.

Back in 3/07 when my dad was Given SIX months to live, we got him on LDN IMMEDIATELY.

They did chemo on Tuesdays, and he took LDN 4.5 EVERY Day without fail.

If he DIDN'T do the LDN, he'd have been DEAD in SIX months, as per the doctors.

It's going on FOUR years now, he's stil on LDN, been Declared STABLE since month 9, and his Tumors kept shrinking. Last time they did a CT they were nearly Gone.

The doctor prescribing the LDN said the chemo they used wouldn't be problem with LDN... and LDN just helped the chemo DO it's Job. Exactly the Opposite of what you seem to be saying, as well.

Everyone takes their chances, I'm so glad I still have my Dad, in remission, Cancer-free, alive, 86, doing well.

My brother was dying of sarcoidosis, he started LDN a few weeks after my dad, he's also been stable and in remission.

And I'm stable on LDN with MS since 2003.
