Guest guest
i have mentioned this before i think but i have a condition of the kidneys were i form stones....and so in an effort to reduce stones ( i never took any meds ) i use lots of magnesium, and take all of the other supporting nutrients...and i drink lots of fluids..this has worked for years and i have not had a big stone in years but i always had small stones (one IVP showed about 40 small ones in the kidney)....i would always feel rear flank pain (low near kidneys) and i knew it was stones albeit small ones...i started on 50 mg of iodine about 4 months ago and i have NOT had one single twinge of flank pain..not one....and i can tell you i had pain every day before...so while i have not had another xray i feel as if the high dose of iodine has helped not hurt my kidneys...and of course i do take lots of magnesium too...how much iodine are you on?? maybe you would benefit by 50 mg ..i feel i have....From: shadesoffrost <bridgef@...>Subject: Kidney stonesiodine Date: Tuesday, September 29, 2009, 9:57 PM Just had a pretty severe bout of kidney stone pain. I was hospitalised and a stent put into my ureter. The docs have me on bicarb of soda to dissolve the 7 mm stone which is stuck. Also a gout medication and blood pressure med Minipress. I have had this before but passed the stone within a day but this time its full on. I don't know what type of stone it is but could it have anything to do with taking 50 mg of iodine daily? My doc was conservative and told me to take no more than 1 drop per day but I'm taking 8 drops. I don't want to continue just in case the iodine has something to do with the formation of the stone or that it may have helped flush it out of my kidney. While in pain and in hospital they stopped all my supplements and Low Dose Naltrexone naturally but when I came home my blood pressure remained dangerously high. My blood pressure meds have been doubled and I've gone back on my magnesium, B complex vitamins, probiotics but I'm wary of continuing my coliodial minerals in case that had something to do with it. Any suggestions or clues about what I should take and not take at this time would be apreciated. To top it all off I have to go back into hospital to have the stent taken out in 6 weeks. Guest guest
I also think that sometimes when starting iodine there can be a healing crisis, b/c iodine increases cell respiration and detox. it did for me. I can't remember the name of what it was I had symptoms of, but it was so uncomfortable that I thought I might go to ER to check it out. (I am extremely doctor phobic so this would have been a big deal for me). within 24 hrs the discomfort went away, and then I had twinges of it for a few months after, now all gone. I will try to think of what it was! Guest guest
When you had stones before, did they do a chemical analysis on them? Are they having you strain your urine now? And if you find any stones did the dr. ask you to save them so he can do a chemical analysis? Stones can form for various reasons and analyzing them can tell why you are making them. Guest guest
Hi Bee, Just a quick note regarding this topic. I have been following your diet very, very closly since July 2009 and for the first time in my life, I developed a kidney stone last month. Passing the stone was probably the most painful thing I have ever experienced, and I too am afraid of having it again. I don't really understand why this would happen. I spend a lot of time each day planning and preparing healthy foods according to the plan. I watch my food ratios and take all of the supplements. But this is also the first time in my life I have ever taken cal/mag supplements. My husband believes the cal/mag supplements are the cause. My doctor told me the citrate forms of cal/mag tend to cause more stones in people. Perhaps my risk for developing another stone will decrease as I get healthier??? thanks for any advice, Carolyn > > > > Hello Bee and all > > > > What is the relationship with Candida and Kidney stones?Had to call 911, morphene etc. > > > > Lola. > > > > >

When you last brought up your kidney problems, you wrote that the tests were inconclusive, Message #84346, January 26, 2010. You didn't reply to my questions after that. So since then, did your doctor or hospital change the diagnosis to kidney stones? You know, if taking cal/mag citrate as I recommend caused kidney stones then I should have them for sure! And I've never had them. Also people on my program would be rushing to emergency rooms in droves with kidney stones. Bee
Guest guest
Hi Bee, We had a consultation after that (which was extremely helpful), so I had answered your questions at that time. And not on the forum. Yes, I was diagnosed as passing a kidney stone. My regular doctor saw the reports and then consulted with another doctor at the hospital who studied my cat scan. Between my symptoms and scan, they concluded the diagnosis. I do not think that taking the cal/mag you recommend is a sure thing for people to develop stones! But perhaps it may become an issue for some. I honestly do not know, but just wanted to mention what happened to me. > > Carolyn <snip> > > I have been following your diet very, very closly since July 2009 and for the first time in my life, I developed a kidney stone last month. > +++Hi Carolyn. Guest guest
I also recently got a kidney stone from being on the " candida diet. " However, it wasn't Bee's candida diet. I've been eating way too much protein and not enough fats like coconut oil, butter, olive oil, etc. Coconut oil and lemons are supposed to help dissolve kidney stones. Good luck. > > > > Hello Bee and all > > > > What is the relationship with Candida and Kidney stones?Had to call 911, morphene etc. > > > > I have been through hell. > > > > now I have an urunary track infection, with high testing of Bacteria > > > > When tested for UTI, any reason not to go on antibiutics in this case? Guest guest
Wow! Thanks again! As it turns out, there are 2 people who have kidney stones. One is listening, the other will probably go the conventional medical route. I'll keep telling people about what I believe to be the safest and best way to heal. If they think that I'm crazy, then their health is upon their shoulders. I remember scoffing as I assembled the parts of the Beck Protocol, saying to myself, " Yeah sure! Like, this is REALLY going to work...(?) " But, of course, it did! I wouldn't have known if I hadn't tried. Dick > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I have a friend who had a kidney removed last week. Guest guest
To quote from the following: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Does_apple_cider_vinegar_have_any_real_health_benefits Apple cider vinegar I am a very big advocate of apple cider vinegar! There is so much out there about the uses of organic apple cider vinegar, and with me being a person who is green friendly I use as many products as I can to promote healthy living. Also it helps to flush toxins and makes your skin beautiful by removing the dark circles from under the eyes. Just be careful not to take it straight from the bottle! Dilute it or else it could burn your stomach like taco bell at three am can. They make tablets that you can take but some people find them difficult to swallow. Answer ACV can be found in tablet form in the vitamin section of most pharmacies or health food shops, and some department stores (possibly Wal*Mart, Costco, etc). In researching for a kidney stone treatment, I found that Calcium Oxalate crystals (one form of kidney stone) caused by unhealthy diet change: too much fluoride (brushing teeth with tooth paste every hour or so after each snack), too many peanuts, and too much chocolate--could be dissolved naturally by a number of treatment methods including ACV, lemon juice & olive oil, banaba leaf extract, eating pickles, alfalfa with lime juice, and more. CT scans showed a 2 cm stone in each kidney. Gas in gastrointestinal tract put pressure all through the abdomen that caused kidney tissues to be compressed against both stones causing huge pain / damage. Hospital doctors gave two prescriptions--one for pain, and another for widening the urinary flow pathway. Pharmacist said they would fill my prescriptions right away, but instead took about 45 minutes chatting with one particular "potential customer," all the while kidney stone pain returned with a vengeance. Pharmacist did not know of anything to take for kidney stones, but had heard that some people tried some risky substances and got no better. Both the hospital doctors and the pharmacist recommended just drinking a lot of water, and letting the stones painfully pass out during urination. After getting on the internet, the answers came quickly--first a whole bunch of web sites trying to sell a book about the topic, then later a web blog site where people pooled their experiences with treatments... Using a lot of lemon juice, olive oil, ACV tablets, eating pickles, and a day or so later, voila, no stones at all, no pain, and only minute chunk of one of the stones passed through the bladder into a fine meshed strainer given by the doctor at the hospital. The strainer was supposed to filter out the stone material, and this could then be analyzed by a lab to determine the exact cause of the stones. However, recent unhealthy diet change indicated that it was the cause--no need to get an analysis done. While some people like an alkali diet, this resulted with poor amounts of stomach acid (stomach upset due to gas), and not digesting food properly, and also forming kidney stones. This illustrates the need to strike a proper balance in diet with the kinds of food / drink that are needed. I am taking a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar everyday in the morning in liquid form. This liquid has been professed to increase metabolism, decrease water retention, suppress the appetite, lower blood pressure and control cholesterol levels. There have been several studies done regarding weight loss and they all seem to agree that apple cider vinegar is an effective aid for weight loss. It is quite rich in minerals, vitamins and enzymes. I just read that taking it in liquid form may damage tooth enamel so I will probably purchase some pills for the future. I figure I need all the help I can get, so as long as it is OK with my doctor I may as well utilize it. I noticed a web page entitled "dissolve kidney stones naturally:" http://www.google.ca/url?q=http://www.earthclinic.com/CURES/kidney_stones.html It is the original source of information about Apple Cider Vinegar tablets, Lemon Juice 50% + Olive Oil 50%, and numerous other listed example treatments to rid the kidneys of stones. (This can be seen in these Google search results:http://www.google.ca/search?q=kidney+stones+dissolve+naturally+apple+cider+vinegar+acv+olive+oil+lemon+juice ) According to research that I've done, Vitamin D enhances the ability of the Kidneys to filter out salts from our blood. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vitamin_D http://video.google.ca/videosearch?q=vitamin+D & emb=1 & aq=f# Many times kidney stones are formed by Calcium Oxalate crystals from there being too much serum calcium traveling through the kidneys and the person's diet including too much (for that person) of chocolate or peanuts. http://www.google.ca/search?q=calcium%20oxalate%20crystals http://www.google.ca/search?q=calcium+oxalate+chocolate+OR+peanuts+OR+%22peanut+butter%22+kidney+stones The parathyroid glands determine that when there is too little calcium in the blood to produce parathyroid hormone that signals the body to leach calcium from our bones and place it into the blood (a form of autoimmune attack) often resulting in a person's serum level of calcium to be much higher than it should be. http://www.google.ca/search?q=parathyroid+hormone+calcium+bones+serum+OR+blood Psoriasis is also said to be cured by large dosages of vitamin D. Psoriasis is also said to be an autoimmune disease. Psoriasis can be treated by skin exposure to UV light. However, UV B-light is responsible for our body's natural production of vitamin D. Coincidence? I think not! http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Where_can_you_buy_UV_sun_or_psoriasis_lamp_wholesale_or_cheap The recommended UV / sunlight exposure per day without sunscreen is said to be from 8 to 15 minutes per day when the UV index is 3 or more. This sun exposure is impossible in climates towards either of the geographic poles like the Northern USA / Canada during any time other than the summer on a sunny day. So the recommendation is to take vitamin D supplementation sufficient to drive your serum level of vitamin D to the prescribed level of above 50 micrograms per milliliter but below 500 ug / mL. It is important that everyone view the following presentation as fully as possible: YouTube video 58m:52s "Vitamin D and Prevention of Chronic Diseases" - F. Holick, Ph.D., M.D. Director Vitamin D, Skin and Bone Research Laboratory Boston University School of Medicine Vitamin D Prevents Cancer- Is It True e Stähler on Vitamin D3, with Bill - Project Camelot Parathyroid hormone sometimes leaches so much calcium from the bones into the blood, it may cause blood vessel calcification, hardening of the arteries, and high blood pressure. When the kidneys are less able to filter out excess salts from our systems, high blood pressure results (part of the reason that salt reduction is recommended by medical doctors to reduce the risk of high blood pressure--due to weaker than normal kidney function. This all may be due to vitamin D deficiency. http://www.google.ca/search?q=dead+doctors+don%27t+lie+listen+.mp3++Wallach The Dead Doctors Don't Lie lecture outlines that dental / teeth problems may be due to osteoporosis of the mouth where calcium loss of the teeth are responsible in part for the progression of cavities, weakness of the jaw bone, etc, due to vitamin D deficiency. UV lamp light bulbs are mercury vapor lamps and are expansive. These tubes can run in most common household fluorescent light fixtures, but these fixtures are super simple "cheap assed" things that burn out the tube lamp's filaments that heat both ends of the tube's gas to permit easier ignition. http://www.google.ca/search?q=mercury+vapour+OR+vapor+UV+tube+quartz One way around this it to not use the filaments for ignition or only use them momentarily until the tube ignites, and then use a high voltage DC power supply to keep the lamp tube going without running the filaments all of the time (reducing energy / heat used) to run the tube lamp. Maybe the current flow should be reversed every once in a while so that ionic impurities do not build up too much on either end of the tube on the filament electrodes? Someone like Russ at Sota should engineer a really good UV tube lamp fixture that will not burn the tubes out on a frequent basis-add to it an electronic timer for recommended exposure times. I saw an expensive desk lamp once. It used a CdS "light sensor" at the middle of the tube to determine the instant that the tube had ignited, and to shut down the current flow through the filaments. This fixture would then not tend to burn out the expensive tubes. http://www.google.ca/search?q=cds+light+sensor Emmett K. Guest guest
One thing that I forgot to add about vitamin D and vascular disease was that cholesterol and sterols are related. Certain sterols are used by the skin's exposure to UV light to start the generation of vitamin D. http://www.google.ca/search?q=vitamin+D+wiki+sterol Perhaps having an elevated cholesterol level, a person is not converting enough sterols into vitamin D by UV-B skin exposure (without sun screen), and one more reason that Statin cholesterol lowering drugs should be avoided. http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en & source=hp & q=Transient+Global+Amnesia+A+Side+Effect+Of+Statin+Treatment http://www.google.ca/search?q=%22coenzyme+Q10%22+OR+CoQ10+statin+synthesis+mevalonate Apparently dogs and cats get vitamin D through oils in / on their fur being exposed to UV-B rays of the sun, and then ingest these "activated oils" by grooming themselves. When an animal is unable to groom themselves, they may become sicker as a result. Only certain animals who are nocternal do not get their vitamin D from sun UV-B exposure. One of the mentioned videos in my prior post mentions in it that pet lizards can get rickets--a vitamin D deficiency disease that causes bone loss and other similar things. The picture of the lizard so affected is astonishing. The recommendation for pet lizard owners is to purchase a type of UV lamp for their lizard's cage--see the video for details. It is important that everyone view the following presentation as fully as possible: YouTube video 58m:52s "Vitamin D and Prevention of Chronic Diseases" - F. I wonder what Canadian made vitamins that lawyer was taking that cause him to overdose on vitamin D?
Guest guest
Good post because it shows the synergy between vitamin D and other things. One thing which is disturbing about all this talk about vitamin D is the claim that there is a world wide epidemic. I can't see this as most people, which is in your underdeveloped countries, get a lot of sun exposure. Here in Africa it is customary for the women upon wakening to go bare breasted for a number of hours. So something is wrong with that claim. Guest guest
I found Dr Holick's research Fascinating. His Utube on the subject is an hour long but worth watching. He's an interesting Teacher. His Statistics were a big Eye Opener! My Wife tans once a month in the winter at a Tanning Salon and takes 1000 iu of Vitamin D3 daily. She's the Healthiest Person I know. Her Physicals show that too! Now we are located in SoCal so we get plenty of Sun during Spring, Summer & fall. This just enlightened me to have my D level tested the next time. Maybe my heightened HDL is in part due to a lower D level?? Make one wonder. Ron olushola camara wrote: Â Good post because it shows the synergy between vitamin D and other things. If high ( or too much) protien does not cause Kidney stones, what is the cause of Kidney stones. > > 2. Would it be at all possible for someone to get kidney stones if following your diet strictly? +++Hi , Kidney stones usually form when the normal balance of water, salts, minerals, and other substances found in urine changes, and also because of a high sugar/carb intake. How this balance changes determines the type of kidney stone you have. Most kidney stones are calcium-type-they form when the calcium levels in your urine change. Soft drinks which contain high phosphorus are one of the biggest culprits, along with taking calcium carbonate antiacids for acid reflux. Of course we know it is important to take equal amounts of magnesium and calcium otherwise your body depletes the other, and calcium without magnesium makes calcium deposit into soft tissues causing calcification. All of the other minerals on this program are also needed, i.e. from foods, ocean sea salt, good natural minerals from water, etc. Minerals can only be absorbed and utilized IF you have the right combination of what Dr. Price called " the mineral activators " which are mainly found in cod liver oil, along with good saturated fats, and so on. All of the nutrients on this program work together so that's why it helps your body balance out all of its minerals and other nutrients as Nature intended. If a person has had kidney stones in the past they will be retracing those episodes while healing, but that doesn't mean they will have any " actual " stones when that happens. Guest guest
Bee, I wont post questions for a bit after this because I know there are a lot of questions to answer for others. 1. Do we know how long it takes for kidney stones to develope? 2. Is it possible that you can have kidney stones brewing for long periods of time not really knowing they are there until they are very bad and large? 3. Based on the answers above , is it possible that people that experience kidney stones passing on this diet , are people with prior problems with kidney stones whether they knew it or not and the diet hence will dissolve the stone and let it pass once and for all? Just because 1 passes does not mean there are not more hiding that need to come out to. Then if the stones return one more time while on the diet, could it be due to the fact that the body still has not had ample time to balance and absorb properly the vitamins or nutrition and correct the problem in full yet? Im thinking about your rule of how long it takes to heal.
