Guest guest
Sorry this is so long - I think I need to clarify the situation though. My mother just started taking LDN 1.5 for Hashimoto's and Rheumatoid arthritis. She's also been in multiple car accidents and that lead to back surgery with a metal rod implanted. She's been on Voltaren/Diclofenac since 1993. About 4 months ago, I suggested the GAPS diet for her. She agreed and she is now on stage 6 of the Intro and doing very well with her diet and has lost a good bit of weight, although she is still very overweight for her height. We've been weaning her off of the Voltaren - she has been on it for so long and we are concerned about the cardiovascular and gastrointestinal risks. The last Voltaren she had was the Friday the 21st and then she took her first 1.5 LDN on Wednesday night, January 26. The next morning she is in so much pain! Her hands, which had been feeling better, her ankles, her back. She even mentioned that her lungs are hurting her and it reminds her of when she was in the hospital after the car accident and they were filling with fluid and the doctors had to keep draining them. I've been encouraging her not to take any more Voltaren so instead she is taking D-Phenylalanine. But it doesn't seem to be doing anything. I am asking if anyone here can share their experience with the following- 1) Have others experienced this extreme die-off? I thought, " Is Voltaren an opioid and they are cancelling one another out? " But no, it is an NSAID so she shouldn't be having such an extreme immediate reaction. Is it a healing crisis? 2) How long it may take before she can expect to feel some pain relief from the LDN? Granted, everyone is different plus she's had a good 20 years of degeneration and undiagnosed thyroid problems to overcome so I know it is going to take a while for her body to heal. Even then she'll likely not return to a completely pain-free life. But a more manageable one, surely. Thank you so much for your insight! -K-
