Guest guest
I use the sub lingual, and get good results with that.
Guest guest
LDN and 3 mgs of melatonin each night has provided the best sleep I have had in at least 15 years. For the last 10 months I have been able to have solid sleep for 7-8 hours and my body feels totally rested and refreshed ... even though I am currently dealing with fatigue during the day due to other issues. Guest guest
I told my nutrition doctor, who put us on it years ago, the same thing. She said to take 3 mg the first night, then add three until you wake up the next morning groggy. For both my husband and myself, that was when we hit 12 mg, but you can easily and healthfully go higher. Melatonin does not act like a sleeping pill, knocking you out whether you are tired or not. It is simply a hormone that the young body makes naturally that helps you sleep more peacefully. It will not overcome major stress, or racing thoughts or caffeine. You have to do the other things to help you get a natural rest, then melatonin will do the job well. It does not make me sleep if I am too jazzed up (in any way) to sleep. It also does not always put me back to sleep when I awaken at 3 am for whatever reason. It does not overcome nature, but it sure can help nature, if you let it. Guest guest
I only take melatonin when I am having trouble sleeping. Since LDN and the iodine protocol it is exceedingly rare that I can't fall asleep initially, but I will still wake up too early sometimes if I'm really stressed or excited about something. I will then take 3-6mg of melatonin and read for a few minutes, and if I go ahead and put the book aside and turn off the light when I have the first urge, I fall back asleep. If you wake up sleepy, go outside and look up towards the sun. Bright light converts the melatonin in your system so it's not there anymore and you wake up. -- At 05:38 PM 2/18/2011, FrancieS wrote: >I told my nutrition doctor, who put us on it years ago, the same thing. >She said to take 3 mg the first night, then add three until you wake up >the next morning groggy. " I used to suffer from insomnia due to 'racing thoughts', especially if I didn't get onto the couch to relax for several hours before going to bed. I've mentioned two natural sleep aids here before, Relax-All and Light's Out, but didn't mention the 3rd - a homeopathic called " Coffea Cruda " see: http://www.vitaminshoppe.com/store/en/browse/sku_detail.jsp?id=BI-1184 I will typically take 4-5 little 6x pellets 1/2 -1 hour before the time I want to be in bed, and as long as there's nothing else stressing me out (severe pain, sickness, or THE FIRST WEEK OF STARTING LDN!! :-), it's like taking a knockout pill. I've lost count of how many times I've woken up on the couch with the TV on and my chin slumped onto my chest (not really comfortable!) because my body is so totally relaxed. May not work for all, and be sure if you try it to start out slowly (1 or 2 pellets sublinguilly) because it may knock you out at any time, literally.....close your eyes during a commercial and wham! Wha' happened?!

I think that being > electrosensitive must mess that up. People with electrical sensitivity can also be ultra-sensitive to certain supplements, so whenever trying a new supplement, it is best to start with a very small dose to see if you have any adverse side effects. Ironically, sometimes the supplements that initially give you the strongest adverse reaction are actually the ones that could benefit you the most! In such cases, you need to take tiny doses at first, and eventually build up to something larger when you can tolerate it better.
