Guest guest
Oh, good question! I just assumed you shake it to distribute it, so that is what I have been doing. Will be interested to have this clarified (no pun intended)! [low dose naltrexone] Liquid LDN solution: to shake or not to shake? I've seen conflicting instructions on how to take the liquid LDN solution. Some say that once the tablet has been dissolved, you let the " trash " settle to the bottom, and just draw up the clear solution. Some say that you shake the solution right before drawing up, so that you have some of the " trash " in your dose. Please tell me what is the right way to do this:) BTW, I've been on LDN for Crohn's for about 6 weeks: 1.5 mg for 2 weeks, 2.25 mg for 2 weeks, and now 3 mg for 2 weeks. I was ok when I started, but have gotten into a flare since starting LDN Caroline
Guest guest
It is better for people with crohn to use transdermal ldn cream. If it is impossible then do not shake the bottle. You must check good candida and there is special Group for ldn and crohn that can help you better I am using the Free version of SPAMfighter.SPAMfighter has removed 2137 of my spam emails to date.Do you have a slow PC? Guest guest
I shake it when it's first dissolved, then draw off the clear liquid and throw away the deposit. Done it for well over a year now and it's fine - better than shaking it each time. Don't see the point in drinking fillers. Guest guest
zahavi - If she is making liquid it would be a good indication she does not have a script. Like many of us. I shake. But I do not seem to be as reactive/sensitive to fillers as some folks are. I have been told that the naltrexone dissolves into the solution and stays in solution and what settles to the bottom is just filler and what they used to stabilize the med into a pill form. So you likely do not need to shake and many do not. Sometimes folks get a flare when starting due to candida issues coming to the front. It seems that as our immune systems work to right themselves a candida issue we might not have been aware of can now become more noticable and cause issues including blocking the LDN from working as effectively. I treated for candida and found it helped the LDN work better and helped me to feel better. Since most of us with UC/Crohn's have been on steriods at some point it is a sure bet we have candida - actively or quietly, but more than likely there. Guest guest
Dr Skip (pharmacist) has said that while it is true that the naltrexone stays in suspension once dissolved, and that the particles that sink to the bottom are the fillers, he thinks concerns about ingesting those filler particles are overblown. What this means is that while a number of sources still tell people to be sure to shake the bottle, there is in fact no reason to do so. What it also means is that for most people, it doesn't matter one way or another if you take the particles or not. If you can take tablets in the form of prescription or OTC drugs, then the particles are not a problem for you. If you're one of the small minority of people who cannot ingest regular tabletting fillers/excipients, then those fillers in the naltrexone tab will also be a problem. -- At 01:12 PM 3/7/2011, you wrote: >zahavi - If she is making liquid it would be a good indication she does >not have a script.
