can anyone help with treatments for scleroderma?

Scleroderma is the autoimmune disease from hell. I have

seen success stories from people using colonics and

dietary changes. If it were me, I would read these two

books, I would be on coral calcium to keep the body

alkalized and I would be under the care of an advanced

clinical kinesiologist. In addition, I would be on power

natural antioxidants like ellagic acid.

I wish you well.

Steve

P.S. Scleroderma is mentioned in one of these books.

Dear Steve,

Have you contacted the Oasis of Hope Hospital in Mexico, and also now the

Gerson therapy is being done there as well, you could phone or e-mail and

see if they have had any positive results with it. Sometimes an IV of an

antibiotic is given. A Dr. Browne back in the 50's has a book about curing

Rhematoid arthritis, Scleroderma and Lupus, he said something along the

lines of ' the body is not declaring war on itself by reacting against its

own tissues, its reacting against a mycoplasma which is so small that its

hard to detect THAT is what the body is trying to kill' if you do a search

thru Amazon you will probably get the book I am talking about.

I am assuming you meant scleroderma...I have heard of healings of this

terrible autoimmune disease with the use of copious amounts of aloe vera

The protocol I developed with the patient includes high oxygen intake (MSO),

intensive magnetic treatment, liver cleanse, and macrobiotic diet.

There is a gradual improvement that goes on now for a month, after a very

obvious improvement on the first week. I do wish for all info I can get,

especially treatments which don't require mega dose of $$$...

DMSO : nature's healer by Morton is the first place I heard of

scleroderma. Dr s, who is THE researcher on DMSO (perhaps the discoverer)

has done much with DMSO and scleroderma. One of my Bishops traveled florida to

oregon with his mom who had scleroderma to work at s' clinic. When she

died of pneumonia she was symptom free of scleroderma--previously had been

unable to clench her fist or move much of the rest of her body with ease. Her

internal organs were dramatically affected. And it fixed her. s has a web

page. Do a net search of DMSo and you'll find him Dr. Stan s or perhaps

it's .

The Scleroderma International Foundation (SIF), a voluntary membership

to provide scleroderma patients with information and support and to fund

research into the disease. Scleroderma (also known as progressive systematic

sclerosi) is a chronic and degenerative disease of the connective tissue. The

Foundation keeps its members informed of medical, legal, and political

developments relevant to the disease and brings patients together for mutual

support. SIF also raises funds for research and is associated particularly with

research into the use of dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) to treat scleroderma. It also

allocates funds for non-DMSO research.

Dear Therese,

Oh, I'm sorry about your sister-in -law. I hope she feels well most of the time. I guess the red spots come from collagen building up on the skin. And she had sensitive teeth too -uh oh!

[ ] Scleroderma

,My sister-in-law has scleroderma and Reynauds Disease, unfortunately were not that close, so I don't have much info for you . She has had it for many years and you can see the skin tightening on her, now she is having a problem with the esophagus.I remember her complaining of the sensitive teeth, but I don't know anything about the red spots. Sorry. Therese from CT

Dear :

I checked it out on the medlineplus.gov site (someone posted

earlier) and it sounds confusing. The symptoms sound about the same.

There are apparently more tests they can run to check this out

though, besides the ANA.

I'm sorry you're being put on such a rollercoster ride. Just when

you think you're going to get a handle on one disease and then a new

one is thrown at you. Perhaps your dr. can run some further tests to

rule this out for you and ease your mind.

You're in my prayers,

Hi my Aunt had sclaraderma for years before anyone new what it was. She lived a long life and ended up dying from somethingelse.

My sisters mother-in-law also has sclaraderme and she has had it for a long time. This disease is a lot like AIH in that you most often die from something else. Meds are available and good diet, rest and exercise are important. There is a web site about this disease but I don't know the address.

Good luck,

Bugs,

I'm sorry this is all happening to you. I really think that you need to start

adding bentonite and psyllium shakes to your daily regimen. Begin with one or

two. They really help to remove a lot of floating toxins so that they can't be

reabsorbed and they also help to begin cleaning your digestive tract.

My shakes really help minimize my die off episodes.

Good luck,

Ron, I have treated a lady for 26 yr. with Scleroderma, I see her once a week, I manually manipulate her spine and all joints in upper and lower extremities. She gets massage also. This keeps her pain level down and less cramping. She also sees a Naturopath for some therapies. She has been in a wheel chair for about 22 yr... Dan Beeson DC

I have a 71 year old female patient who has recently been dx with Scleroderma. It appears to be limited to her arms and hands, but the full workup has not been completed to see if there is lung or kidney involvement yet. Anyone have any tried and tested treatments for this disease? Her hands itch and hurt, and we have put her on moisturizing cream and she is taking pain med for the associated shin pain. I am looking for anything you might be able to offer her to make her life more comfortable while the rest of the dx workup is being done. Grice, DCAlbany, OR

Hi Ron,

I have several of these and have had some to minimal effect on the skin hardening tho keepin the arthritic component at bay has been relatively successful. the liquid minerals seem to help as well as anything else although the 5 grams of C/day seems tohave slowed the progression of the skin factor.

Nattokinase would be somehting I am going to recommend to my next case .... enzymatic cleansing on a strong level.

My sister-in-law has had scleroderma for some years, which is now becoming

critical, with weight loss and inability to swallow food. Doctors are

throwing up their hands. My question - has scleroderma been treated with

energy devices and what is the outcome? Any suggestions?

Here's a study mentioning 4 out of 6 got well with an anti-biotic.

If that is so, perhaps they had some infection that the immune

system was fighting against " too hard " and tearing up the rest of

the body??? just guessing here, but it's interesting...

----------------

There is no cure for every patient with scleroderma, though there is

treatment for some of the symptoms, including drugs that soften the

skin and reduce inflammation. Some patients may benefit from

exposure to heat.

In 1998 a clinical trial conducted by Harvard and sponsored by The

Road Back Foundation and the National Institute of Health found that

of the 6 initial patients with early diffuse scleroderma enrolled

that finished the trial, 4 went into complete remission with the

antibiotic Minocycline. [18]

A range of NSAIDs (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) can be used

to ease symptoms, such as Naproxen. If there is oesophageal

dysmotility (in CREST or systemic sclerosis), care must be taken

with NSAIDs as they are gastric irritants, and so a proton pump

inhibitor (PPI) such as omeprazole can be given in conjunction.

Immunosuppressant drugs, such as mycophenolate mofetil (Cellcept®)

or cyclophosphamide are sometimes used to slow the progress.

Digital ulcerations can be helped by prostacyclin (iloprost)

infusion. Iloprost being a drug which increases blood flow by

relaxing the arterial wall.

Is she willing and open to trying the paddles and the wrist device?

I'd think you couldn't lose with both of those, make em..that is if

she is willing. Go slow at first because if it is a virus or

something germy, it can cause a dieoff symptom like the flu and be

unpleasant. Still it usually goes away in a few hours to a day.
