Is yeast the only fungal problem suffered although it is bad enough? Is LDN worth taking if it causes fungal/yeast/ gut/sleeplessnes and other problems? " Answers to many questions you may have concerning yeast overgrowth can be found at this excellent web site: http://www.womentowomen.com/digestionandgihealth/candida.aspx The quick answer is that there are some very cheap and harmless supplements you can take to keep yeast in the gut under control, along with a few dietary changes (avoid sugar is #1) if those supplements aren't sufficient. From that site: * Candex * Berberine * Oil of oregano * Garlic * Citrus seed extract (e.g., ParaMicrocidin) * Pau d’arco * Isatis tinctoria (indigowoad root) * Undecylenic acid * Caprylic acid * Probiotics I've been taking probiotics and garlic for years and used to take another product called " ThreeLac " , which is another type of probiotic that contains yeast-eating bacteria, and it's harmless to the " good " bacteria in your gut necessary for digestion. I've also tried a couple of the other product listed above in the past, but found them intolerable - Oil of oregano is very powerful, too much will kill off too many yeast too fast and cause a " herxheimer " reaction (will make you sick as a dog). And Caprylic Acid is very irritating to the intestines and colon (it is an acid after all). I won't go into the ugly details of what it did to me in just a month, but I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy...... My suggestion to everyone, and I don't think this is promoted here as strongly as it should be, is probiotics, probiotics, and MORE probiotics! They're your best friends, trust me on that.
