Guest guest
I don't know if this is controversial or not, but I wanted to share with the group. I haven't been here for a while because I was doing so well. 3 weeks ago I missed TWO LDN doses in a 3-day period. Within 24 hours I was hit with an awful infection that required antibiotics. I'm pretty sure w/o LDN I would have been sick for 6-8 weeks and down with pneumonia and other secondary infections like in the past. I was reading online and saw a comment that some people take as much as 25 mg of LDN. I had never heard this before and I thought it was interesting and perhaps applicable to me since I got so sick so quickly. At the same time, mild restless leg and fibro symptoms reappeared, and 11 days later I got a rash of shingles on my neck and shoulder. So it seemed these things were lying in wait for me to miss just 2 doses! Someone on Facebook was skeptical, saying that I probably would have gotten the infection even if I didn't miss a dose, but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have... I have been around viral/bacterial pneumonia and H1N1 while on LDN and I have not had a speck of any illness since I started taking it in July 2009. I had also been dealing with mild regular increases of fatigue since October. I thought maybe it was due to things in my environment, but now I wonder if I need more LDN during winter months like I do other medications. I don't know if any studies have been done about seasonal changes, but some of my dosage needs definitely change during the dark, cold winter months. So ... I made the decision to raise my LDN dose slowly from 4.5 mg. I don't know how high I will go... right now I am at just under 5 mg. I feel better already as far as energy levels, and the RLS, fibro symptoms are waning. I would like to find others who decided that 4.5 mg was less than optimal and decided to take more.
