Guest guest
KB, Acidophilus is great at digesting milk, and a must have, if you cannot digest milk products, but has it's limitations, ie like yogurt. Both great for taking after a round of antibiotics to replentish digestive bacteria. david lubbock tx. [low dose naltrexone] Re: yeast HiI take a digestive enzyme called Acidophilus. Guest guest
Hi, one of the others have told me that yeast needs to be under control before beginning ldn? I have been on meat and low carbs plus antifungals which was working for 3 years until my immune system got very messed up. Is it ok to try ldn with some milder to moderate yeast issues? Does ldn cause worsening of yeast problem?

Guest guest
The cost of these supplements is not much at all, . I order almost all my supplements from www.swansonvitamins.com ...high quality at low price with cheap shipping. I get bags of Xylitol from www.epicdental.com ... can be used in place of sugar in recipes and drinks and baking... best with fruit since it has a tangy taste, but very sweet. They also sell a toothpaste which washes away bacteria and thus prevents tooth decay. Xylitol both raises body ph somewhat and also gets rid of stomach and intestinal infections due to its effect on bacteria. Good stuff... would not be without it.Phyllis
Guest guest
I'm always looking for ways to save: If you order from Amazon using their Amazon Visa, you get 3% off. I get Swanson vitamins from them. (Love the rabbit trails on this group! :-D). Re: [low dose naltrexone] Re: Yeast The cost of these supplements is not much at all, . Guest guest
Hi , LDN seemed to really encourage yeast/candida with my body. I tried most things, to include script meds, but finally using Betaine HCL, yeast is no longer a problem. and I feel like "toni the tiger". To test for sufficient hydrochloric acid - You need betaine hydrochloride tablets plus enzymes - they are available from health food shops. Take half a tablet before the last mouthful of a main meal. Burning or indigestion means you have plenty of hydrochloric acid. Don't take any more tablets. Use antacid or teaspoonful of bicarbonate to relieve discomfort. If no burning or indigestion, next day take 1 tablet in the same way. If still no burning or indigestion, next day take 2 tablets in the same way. If still no burning or indigestion, then you need more acid. There are other tests for stomach PH but they're all invasive. http://www.rheumatic.org/hcl.htm above copied and pasted from this page. I have gradually worked up to five tablets per meal, along with digestive enzymes, 3 tabs of chocolacol which is for fat digestion and aleo vera juice, about two ounces per meal. I keep upping my dosage and feel better with each up, so not sure where this will stop. I had fungus under my toe nails, skin rashes, jock itch. What I believe to happen with digestive aids, it has gradually gotten rid of yeast. I also take Kefir daily. For what it's worth department, it seems years ago, before pencillin was discovered, hydrochloric acid was used very successfully to combat infections, one docter reported, he tested his white blood cell count, 9000, then took HCL, and two hours later his white count had moved to 18000. Of course HCL was introduced via IV, IM and sub q. I am hoping some of the HCL is gettting into my body suffecient to increase my white blood cell count???? don't know, but do know I have no problem with yeast/candida. If you want further information, then try google search, stay vertical, david lubbock tx [low dose naltrexone] yeast I am having a problem with yeast. I've been eating yogurt and trying to stay away from bread or not eat as much of it. Any way has anyone else had or is having this problem that has some useful information? When I saw my doc a few weeks ago he was unaware that LDN could cause this. I've been on LDN for over 4 months and my problems didnt really start till a few months ago. It is rather embarrassing to talk about if you know what I mean. Thanks for your help.
Guest guest
Thank you for posting this " how to " for Betaine HCL. Curious if you recommend any particular brand. If this really solves a yeast problem long term, then it's well worth a try. Karyn > > Hi , LDN seemed to really encourage yeast/candida with my body. Guest guest
Hi Karyn, I’ve used the Solgar brand of Betaine HCL with pepsin and as I ran out I used Swansons. Just from a personal perspective, I preferred the Solgar brand and wouldn’t hesitate in recommending that. I’m about to try a different brand, Drs Best which is slightly more expensive but has a higher dose 650mg of Betaine HCL whereas the Solgar brand had 325mg so less pills to pop! Good luck! Guest guest
Hi JC, I may have stopped to think and nothing happened, but could it be, yeast/candida is a side affect, symptom of poor-incomplete digestion, I am not the one to say, but it certainly seems that may be true. And could it be, poor digesttion, creates-allows an overload of yeast/candida, which overloads our immune system attempting to control that yeast, with a weakened immune system, illness, sickness, cancer of some type, prevails. I know that sounds very simplistic, but I also believe it happens, just how often does it occur? I saw a small movie at our local university medical library, in a petri dish, white blood cells were attacking yeast, the white blood cells had little to no affect on the yeast, but they did form a wall of dead cells to wall off the yeast on only one side, within a twenty four hour period. Also, the yeast was not being feed, so it could, did not grow. Just thinking out-loud. david lubbock tx [low dose naltrexone] yeast> > > > I am having a problem with yeast. Guest guest
Jayne. I like Dr's Best, especially their ALA as you don't get that horrible heartburn with it, I think you will be satisfied with your choice, and thanks too for bringing Betaine to our attention.... Acidophilus is probably the best all-round probiotic you can take, which is why it's THE recommended one on the Specific Carbohydrate Diet -- primarily gotten from the 24-hour fermented yogurt one makes when on the diet. In general it helps replenish good bacteria in your gut and helps crowd out the bad. It's definitely not just for digesting milk products. n
