Guest guest
Hi, It could be CFS, anemia, "lazy old man" syndrome, or adrenal and thyroid as Zahavi said. Let me suggest another possibility: undiagnosed depression. Not being able to get up and engage much is a depression symptom. As we know, LDN works by blocking endorphins temporarily; when they re-start, normal endorphin levels are restored. Most of the good things LDN does through normalizing endorphins come from the fact that endorphins regulate the immune system. To simplify, normal endorphin levels=normal immune system. However, endorphins also give an energetic, feel-good mood (think "runner's high", which is generated by the body pumping out more endorphins when challenged by strenuous exercise). It's at least possible that your husband has depressive tendencies and when his endorphin levels were normalized while on LDN, these tendencies were overcome. It might be worthwhile for your husband to give LDN a test run again and see if it had the same energizing effects as before. (The other possibilities mentioned would also be worth investigating.) Best wishes to you all, Ed
