Guest guest
hi john, was my predicament, so purchased private scrip from emed [www] cheap and they mailed direct to dicksons chemist galsgow, ldn from dicksons costs 30pds for 28 days 4 months ago got the solution and started on 1ml[low] increased on 1ml each month and now on 4.5ml capsules doc saw improvement and now get nhs scrip that i mail to dicksons so all free good luck regards/peter/ms/primary progressive Hi everyone,I've suffered with Crohns for many years and tried virtually every therapy / drug going except Naltrexone (Nalorex here in the UK ) without any degree of success.I've heard so many great testimonies to the effectiveness of LDN that I went to my doctors ASAP. I took along as much supporting evidence as would seem convincing with view to obtaining the drug Naltrexone. My doctor said she would need to consult with the other doctors in the practise (10) before I could have this medication. The following day my doctor rang me with a refusal, when I asked why they said it was a collective view that it was unsuitable for my condition. This is not correct from my perspective and the available data, but apparently their decision is final A change of doctor apparently takes along with it all my medical records and therapy protocols.I cannot rationalize or believe why a cheap drug, with potential therapeutic qualities, is being denied me outright. I must therefore conclude, whether right or wrong, that it's on a purely fiscal basis. They seem resigned to keeping me on the mega expensive drugs cocktails and ineffective therapies indefinitely.I'm obviously very depressed at the doctor's decisions which force me to seek out Naltrexone outside of our health service. This is not a choice I take lightly for I know there are copy drugs out there which could be harmful and totally useless, but it's those of whom I trusted most who are forcing this action. I'm clueless on where to start my search for genuine off-prescription Naltrexone, and I would not wish to put anyone in danger by asking for such direct help; however any hints in respect to this issue would greatly appreciated. In hopeful anticipation, Respectfully yours, in the UK
Guest guest
Hi , Unfortunately that is the case here in the UK, and those who can get it through their GP as an off label prescription are very lucky indeed. It is not a cost issue so your PCT does not need to get involved – they only intervene if the GPs want to put a patient on an off label drug that is costly. The GPs concern is being reported to the GMC for doing so. Remember, Naltrexone in low doses is not approved for treating any autoimmune condition. In all honesty, with what’s going on here if I was a GP I don’t think I’d risk my license for prescribing this drug. Hence the need for the Govt to approve it. There are two options, you can try:- E-Med who are prescribing LDN for over 800 people (mostly with MS). You will need a letter from your GP confirming you have Crohns. The link is http://www.e-med.co.uk/ldn.php Alternately there is Clinic 158 http://www.clinic158.com/ Good luck! Jayne Crocker www.LDNNow.comImportant! Guest guest
, I understand your dilemma, but fortunately my GP prescribes for me - some do! Where do you live as we might be able to point you to a local source. The other way to get information on prescribing Dr's is to contact Elsesgood at the LDN research Trust, http://www.ldnresearchtrust.org/contact-us.asp Here you should get all of the help you require......... Guest guest
Hi , Why don't you try the drug for a few months to see if it helps. There is a doctor in Bristol - Dr Bob Lawrence, who, I believe, will write you a private prescription and you can purchase the drug from Dixon's Chemists in Glasgow, they will despatch by post and the cost is around £35 / month. Worth trying. Incidentally, he will also send you a file of information to present to your own GP. Not that it will reverse their decision, but it may make them more aware of LDN. Best wishes in your endeavours. Kind regards. -- O'Connor Link Associates 015394 41439 www.linkassoc.co.uk
Guest guest
Hello everyone, I'm very grateful to our members who have taken time out to email me with advice, and equally those who have posted here on our forum. It is a very difficult time for me at the moment, knowing there are helpful legitimate drugs and therapies available, but at present being unable to access them. As if the pain wasn't enough in itself, the mental torture is an even greater burden. I often wonder what happened to the doctor's Hypocratic Oath, " Do no harm " ? I will soldier on, the direction at the present is an unkmown, but I will hopefully achieve my goal; eventually. My best wishes for everyones good health, Respectfully yours, in the UK
Guest guest
I am off my meds completely. It is a real blessing! Guest guest
Hi , Just order it from www.alldaychemist.com. Order enough for a year to keep shipping costs down. ($25 no matter how much) Mix with 50 ml distilled water and you can go up on your dose slowly or quickly, depending on your response. I have been doing it for 2 years and have ordered it for others. One order was over $400!!! Not one problem with it. I wouldn't use the Money Titan business associated with payment. I had a bad experience with them. I try to use my American Express for all transactions and they finally figured it out for me and straightened them out. One person suggested using a prepaid Visa card to avoid any kind of attempt to get money out of your account. However, as many times as I have ordered it for myself and others, I have never had a problem with them. They even have a Los Angeles number on their site so you can talk to someone. You leave a message and they call back. Very quick and efficient!
