To New Hampshire legislators and the voters who put them in office:

There are people who are physically ill, can't work and thus are homeless.

Yet for some bizarre reason they can't get medical care, let alone cash

assistance, to get back on their feet. Though the rest of the country knows

Lyme

disease is a serious illness, it's not recognized by the state of New

Hampshire as a " valid " illness. The only way they get medical services is when

they

become so ill they end up in the emergency room.

People in this situation can't pay the bill. The high costs of emergency

care are much greater than the cost of regular medical services. With their

health stabilized, they may be able to go back to work. And with Medicaid,

someone who has been treated like a gerbil stuck on a wheel may feel like a

human

being again. On the Monitor website, an ad stated that 47 million people are

uninsured. Make that 47,000,001.

Joan,

I hate to tell you but this is happening all over the country - not just NH.

People who have some cash drive days to find a LLMD who doesn't take any

insurance no less Medicare because of disability; those, when they run out

of cash wonder what they are going to do next; and those who don't have the

$$ just don't get any care that helps.

YES, IT IS TRULY UNFAIR!

and I don't get why they have to argue on what we all have - why not try to

figure it out - our country is being crippled by this illness.
