Hi I feared I would have to stop LDN because of increasing severe spasms & spasticity. I have a baclofen pump which usually controls all pain & spasms but after 7 happy months on LDN (with improvements in 12 symptoms) spasms started from 3am (painless but intense) & the spasticity when I got up in the morning was so bad I could hardly walk, couldn’t sit at all & this lasted until 10 am. So I started trying varying the dose every way I could think of but spasms & the spasticity still persisted at intolerable levels. Then my GP told me of an Aboriginal remedy she was told by one of her clients who said it had really helped spasms her and spasticity. It sounds really weird but it has improved my spasms and spasticity hugely. (My spasms & spasticity have always been worse at night). I tape a slice of cork (I use a wine bottle cork) every night over my belly button (I find the clear leuco tape the best for this) and the benefits have been truly remarkable. It was cumulative - first night the cork decreased spasms/spasticity by 30% now spasms/spasticity are improved by as much as 98%. I know it seems really, really odd but it was the only thing that stopped the spasms & spasticity that seemed to be caused by LDN. So you could try the cork for a week and see if it helps, costs nothing.Trish hi jane, me to primary progressive and lucky can now get scrip from doc/nhs that i mail to dicksons started low 1ml[solution] and now on 4th month on 4.5ml [capsules] after approx 3 months improvement in fatque, bladder, bowels, brain fog, depression mistake i made was coming off the baclofen as i suffer from severe legs stiffness, cramps, spasms stick with it as long term gain regards/peter Have been taking LDN for about 2 1/2 weeks - do not feel any change yet - still stiff and heavy/tired.I have PPMS. Does anyone have this type of MS who has seen good results? Thanks, in advance.Jane

Whow, Trish, I cork on the belly button, if it works, what a blessing. Just checking to insure you have been made aware, sunshine for vitamin D3 is a recommended treatment for MS. As I recall sunshine converts cholesterol into vitamin D3, if your situation allowed, I would be doing a nudie w/o lotion for short periods, of course not allowing a burn.

For me, w/o MS sunshine everyday is a must, to follow up with what I know, vitamin D3 is needed to salvage all the calcium be kept in the body, then in turn calcium is what the body uses to keep it more alkaline, w/o suffecient calcium your body has a tough time keeping your body neutral, versus an acidic condition. I have no clue how that may affect MS. I have read folks who live in and around washington and oregon states, where it rains each winter day, no sunshine, stay depressed, suicide and cancer rates are very high there.

Sorry this is so jumbled, I am falling asleep, must go to bed, david lubbock tx.

dear trish, many thanks your email that i find fascinating and will try the cork remedy

but only by drinking the bottle of wine before i go to bed !!!

my legs are just aweful in the morning, especially when i get up, my on-suite has been changed to a wet-room to suit my needs and only 4 steps from my bed but even that is a marathon with a frame, this morning i didnt get back and had to fall on the bed, lucky wife was around to push me in the right direction, upped my baclofen dose this mornning [5am] to 20mg, got up 7am, then the tremors and shakes started

anybody else got any suggestions would like to hear from you

determined to stay on the ldn as into my 4th month and now on max 4.5mg [capsules], perhaps am dose

Thanks , yes you are quite right about Vit D3 and I get lots of sun , live in Oz & have never worn sunscreen – poisonous stuff. Did you know the more regular (only 2o mins a day) sun you get the more resistant to melanoma you become as the body builds up its own protection. Did you know mushrooms make lots of Vit D if you put them in the sun gill side up for 20 min.Trish Whow, Trish, I cork on the belly button, if it works, what a blessing.
