Hi Vicky That all sounds really, really horrendous.  I have had something similar (but you know how all our symptoms are different) in that I had intensely painful spasms whenever I went to sleep.  It was like being on a rack.  I kept thinking that they could not get any worse but they kept intensifying until I thought I could not go on.  I then got a baclofen pump which has literally given me my life back as I have no more spasms or pain.  That was why I was very surprised to experience such severe spasms and spasticity which I had to conclude was from LDN and this was when I started using the cork.  Just remember to give the cork  at least a week as it did not work instantly for me.  I am now taking 3.00mg LDN transdermally every second day, I wear the cork every night and have no spasms and only the usual spasticity.  If I forget the cork the spasms wake me and then I put it on.  Once I forgot the cork and had no spasms or spasticity so I think I will be able to stop using it soon,I have recently been hearing of a doctor in the UK who is doing research which proves the link between mercury poisoning & MS, restless legs, insomnia, allergies etc.  As I have all of these it is nice to see the connection to mercury is finally being recognised.  I wonder if mercury toxicity could be your problem.  I have included a list of some mercury poisoning symptoms and you will see both tremors and chills are listed : “the symptoms of mercury toxicity are lengthy, but we will attempt to bring you a list derived from several different sources. They include: gastrointestinal problems, nervous system problems, fever, chills, fatigue, headache, insomnia, loss of sex drive, depression, numbness and tingling in hands, irritability, tremors, learning difficulties, irregular heartbeat, chest pains, sore and bleeding gums, immune suppression, birth defects, infertility, kidney/brain damage, anxiety, sensitive tongue, metallic taste in the mouth, allergies, dizziness, cataracts, insomnia, kidney damage, memory loss, nervousness, paralysis, seizures, vision loss, weakness, hearing loss, heart problems, chronic constipation, recurring lesions of the skin, hypersensitivity, restlessness, inability to relate to other people, poor coordination, brain fog (memory problems), monologue talking - sometimes for extremely long periods of time, difficulties in breathing, retinal bleeding, loss of interest in life, reduced capacity for work, vertigo, facial paralysis, a painful pull at the lower jaw towards the collar bone, joint pains, pains in lower back, weakness of muscles, pressure, pains, " needles " at lymph nodes under arms and in groin—also in the liver region, increased need for sleep, a gray ring around the cornea of they eye, feeling of being old, emotional problems, lack of concentration, a feeling of being disconnected from God. Etc†Perhaps chelating the mercury could help you.Trish Will certainly try the cork. Used to get plenty of sunshine all the time, but do not get around too well anymore. Diagnosed with MS and fibromyalgia. Am not taking LDN as yet, but wanted to ask about your tremors and " spasms " . I've been getting them for years now. Doc said they are " essential tremors " and not parkinson's and the spasms are actually muscle seizures. Since then, I've had full body seizures that are horribly painful. Usually, if someone will just move me, they will stop. But a few weeks ago, I was home alone and had one that woke me up and lasted for a full hour. Only this time, my lungs would fill nearly to bursting and then it felt as if my diaphram collapsed and shoved all the air out of my lungs. Over and over again for like 40 minutes. Couldn't control it, slow it down or anything. The last 20 minutes, it wasn't quite as pronounced and finally stopped all together. During this, I was shaking all over and felt as though I was frozen to the marrow. My teeth chattering the whole while. ??? Have any of you ever had anything like that to happen??? I'm praying that it isn't an indication that the MS is attacking my lungs. Please advise. Thank you. Vicky Whow, Trish, I cork on the belly button, if it works, what a blessing. Just checking to insure you have been made aware, sunshine for vitamin D3 is a recommended treatment for MS. As I recall sunshine converts cholesterol into vitamin D3, if your situation allowed, I would be doing a nudie w/o lotion for short periods, of course not allowing a burn. For me, w/o MS sunshine everyday is a must, to follow up with what I know, vitamin D3 is needed to salvage all the calcium be kept in the body, then in turn calcium is what the body uses to keep it more alkaline, w/o suffecient calcium your body has a tough time keeping your body neutral, versus an acidic condition. I have no clue how that may affect MS. I have read folks who live in and around washington and oregon states, where it rains each winter day, no sunshine, stay depressed, suicide and cancer rates are very high there. Sorry this is so jumbled, I am falling asleep, must go to bed, david lubbock tx. Hi I feared I would have to stop LDN because of increasing severe spasms & spasticity. I have a baclofen pump which usually controls all pain & spasms but after 7 happy months on LDN (with improvements in 12 symptoms) spasms started from 3am (painless but intense) & the spasticity when I got up in the morning was so bad I could hardly walk, couldn’t sit at all & this lasted until 10 am. So I started trying varying the dose every way I could think of but spasms & the spasticity still persisted at intolerable levels. Then my GP told me of an Aboriginal remedy she was told by one of her clients who said it had really helped spasms her and spasticity. It sounds really weird but it has improved my spasms and spasticity hugely. (My spasms & spasticity have always been worse at night). I tape a slice of cork (I use a wine bottle cork) every night over my belly button (I find the clear leuco tape the best for this) and the benefits have been truly remarkable. It was cumulative - first night the cork decreased spasms/spasticity by 30% now spasms/spasticity are improved by as much as 98%. I know it seems really, really odd but it was the only thing that stopped the spasms & spasticity that seemed to be caused by LDN. So you could try the cork for a week and see if it helps, costs nothing.Trish hi jane, me to primary progressive and lucky can now get scrip from doc/nhs that i mail to dicksonsstarted low 1ml[solution] and now on 4th month on 4.5ml [capsules]after approx 3 months improvement in fatque, bladder, bowels, brain fog, depressionmistake i made was coming off the baclofen as i suffer from severe legs stiffness, cramps, spasmsstick with it as long term gainregards/peterHave been taking LDN for about 2 1/2 weeks - do not feel any change yet - still stiff and heavy/tired.I have PPMS.
