Guest guest
You must make an appt. with the doctor, there are more things connected to heart symptoms Such as extreme stress, pseudo heart attacks, I had one which was quickly relieved when the cardiologist checked me out. Good luck! Anne Anne
Guest guest
Hello Is it taking a long time to walk across a room? Is it difficult to take a few steps on the stairs? Are your ankles or feet swollen? Does it feel like you're drowning when you lie down? I had those symptoms in 2001, when I went to the Doctor, he first said it was Bronchitis but when I said that I didn't think so, he took a chest X-ray and it was off to the cardiologist ASAP, the cardiologist thought I was done for that weekend and to be honest, I was pretty much bedridden for at least three weeks and quite shaky for about a year or two. If these are your symptoms, you may not have the option of waiting for the insurance to kick in. Guest guest
Hi, My name is aka BRAT, My handle says it all. I lost a lung to cancer Nov will be 4yrs and have experienced chest pain in one form or another at some point. I am not a Dr. but I will share my experiences of pain with you. It sure sounds like water around your heart AKA congestive heart (failure) which means you could get into serious trouble at any thim that could surly kill you. I understand you are worried about insurance payments but the alturnative is worse, either an ambulance (er) charges or even death. I strongly suggest you see your primary care Dr. and get an ex-ray soon.....its much cheaper that the other. Guest guest
Well, that drowning sensation is a definite indication that something is wrong. You really should get a Doctor to have a look at it, maybe you can talk your Doctor into post-dating the visit if it isn't serious or maybe someone at a free clinic can have a look. Your lungs, probably have some fluids in them, whether it's blood pooling because your heart can't pump it out fast enough or if it's something else is another matter. They will probably listen to you breathe with a stethoscope cause fluids cause a snap crackle pop type of sizzling sound, trying to listen yourself isn't enough cause it takes practice to sort out what it should sound like. If the heart is weak on left side but not the right, you could have the drowning sensation (pulmonary edema) without the swollen ankles so the lack of swollen bits is not something to take comfort in especially since one side always weakens faster than the other. The chest pains are probably small heart attacks with little bits of your heart muscle becoming scar tissue. Not to scare you or anything but when I had such symptoms, it was damn serious, heart transplant waiting list serious. On the bright side, I'm still alive after four years and they figured I would be gone in a matter of days to maybe two to five years. Have a Doctor look at it, the sooner you can rule out CHF, the better but if he/she starts trying to say it's Bronchitis, ask him/her to take a closer look cause that's just a brush off with the most common ailments simply because he doesn't want to take a closer look. You may want to have a look at www.chfpatients.com for more info. The Merck manual has two good sections that apply but keep that the chances for survival are much better now than whenever the manual was last printed as there's a lot of research in this field. Guest guest
Oh , I used to wear roll neck sweaters, 3 or 4 chains round my neck and round neck t-shirts, now I cannot bear any of them around my neck, a scarf has to be the very softest material so that it does not aggravate me and I still feel as if I am choking sometimes. I do think it is the thyroid in general as is the shortness of breath, so if it is psychological, then we both need to get over ourselves!!! Luv nne I complained some years ago that at times I felt I couldn't breatheproperly. In fact it started 20+ years ago, when I had to give upwearing roll neck jumpers because I felt strangled. Guest guest
Hi Although I have never had breathing problems (until I was diagnosed with asthma a few weeks ago, but that I think was caused through a virus I picked up), I have ENVER been able to bear anything around my neck that covered the area of my thyroid. Although I now probably have no thyroid tissue left, I still can't bear anything there. It is a super sensitive area, and I find this very strange. When you have a swolen thyroid, sometimes it shows on the outside and sometimes, it swells on the inside so you look OK, but nevertheless, the swelling inside may be affecting your windpipe and other organs. Take a copy of that article I posted and let your doctor read it. Your feelings of not being able to bear anything around your neck are physical and not psychological. Ask your GP to be referred again to your endocrinologist and say you are concerned that the swelling 'inside' could be the cause of your problems. luv - Sheila I complained some years ago that at times I felt I couldn't breatheproperly. In fact it started 20+ years ago, when I had to give upwearing roll neck jumpers because I felt strangled. I was sent to anendocrinologist, and a scan of the gland was done. It was found to beabout 3 times the normal size but not cosmetically unacceptable, sonothing needs doing. I am left with intermittent breathing discomfort.and no real solution. Is it the enlargement, or is it the thyroidgenerally? and what if anything can be done to help. I no longer wearchoker type necklaces and even round neck T shirts can be mostuncomfortable. Or is this just psychological and I should 'get overmyself'?Yes I am on 125mcg thyroxine. No virus found in this incoming message.Checked by AVG Free Edition. Guest guest
Hey guys I'm new to the group. I'm 27 years old and have always been great shape until about two years ago I was at work when I suddenly, out of the blue got really ill. The first symptoms I had were some really sick, flu like symptoms along with some heart palpations. When this first happened I went to the ER and of course, since they didn't find anything they told me I was having an anxiety attack. To make a long story short, here I am 2 years later with the same symptoms along with some others that I deal with on a daily basis including, shortness of breath, dizziness, vision problems, numbness, loss of weight, loss of appetite, joint pain and just feeling lifeless. I spent several thousand dollars on specialists and all I've been told is I am anxious and that I have a little acid reflux. Well for myself I know that it's something way more serious. I haven't been able to work in several months and it's caused me lots of other problems besides just health problems. I'm desperate for help and would love to find out what's really going on with me so I can begin the healing process and get on with my life. I was told by a lady to look in to Lyme disease cause my symptoms sound alot like someone she knows with the disease. If these symptoms sound familiar to any of you guys could you please write back with some advice! Thanks, Matt

Guest guest
Matt -- This could very well be Lyme. Get on-line and read what you can. You also need to see a LLMD--- a Lyme Literate Dr. Not sure where you live but this group can certainly give you some ideas. Those would be posted to you privately. Also the Lyme Disease Assoc. website, ILIADS website etc..... Many of us were told we had 'other ' illnesses. Brigham & Women's said that I had " atypical' MS -- but I knew my symptoms were also similar for those of Lyme --- Educated yourself as much as possible. I will send a post to you with the name of our dr. Good luck-- you're in the right place. Sue L **************Ideas to please picky eaters. Watch video on AOL Living.
