Yes, POISONING is A VERY ACCURATE WORD for statin side effects and I

have begun to use that term on my once per month 5 minute talk on our

public access TV channel. In fact, I just wrote a letter to a doctor

of a relative of mine who is on statins and suffering from side

effects and I asked that he not continue to poison her with statin

drugs. phine

> After my latest doctor's appointment a couple of days ago, while he

and I were discussing the health problems I've had to endure both

while on Lipitor and after, at one point when he used the term " side

effects, " I immediately corrected him--I said, " No, not side effects;

how about poisoning?! "

>

> We've had some discussion here lately about whether we're victims

or survivors. Obviously each word applies in some sense, but I prefer

to think we are survivors. However, I do want to suggest that we all

stop calling what has been done to us as " side effects, " and from now

on refer it by the much more accurate term " poisoning! "

The reason why Merck never went ahead with adding CoQ10 to the statin

drug was because it would have made it way too expensive for anyone to

afford it and people would end up not wanting to buy it. So they left

the poison as is in its pure poison form. phine.

>

> I just cant help but mentioning again how outrageous it is that

one statin manufacturer actually had coenzymeq10 in the formula, and

took it out when no other companies did the same. They knew all along

how devastating this poison is. With the way they list the dozens of

other " side effects " in their ads and product information, I guess

depleting the most important enzyme in your body does not qualify?

I've always said poison - because I nearly died with the bloody things! As a communications graduate I know the importance of language and you are what you say you are. I am not a victim I am a survivor of a Corporate Poisoning!Pamelajlkinkona <josephine@...> wrote: Yes, POISONING is A VERY ACCURATE WORD for statin side effects and I have begun to use that term on my once per month 5 minute talk on our public access TV channel. > Hi all,

> It´s been a while since I posted on this board. I have some

questions. Last July I was put on 10 mg of Lipitor daily, my total

Chol was 203( I quit taking it after one box).  I cannot recall my HDL

or LDL, but it was just numbers off if any.  I have hypoglycemia and

see my Endo a few times a year. Last year I started to feel a sudden

numbness in right leg above my knee, it would come and go.  I went on

a trip in May and walked a lot for 3 weeks, and I noticed my right leg

became more numb and would start to feel a burning sensation there

after all the walking. While resting, it got much better and most of

the time went away. Well, I thought right away it was PAD.  3 weeks

ago I saw my Endo, and he had me take lab tests.  my Glucose was fine

=71, my Total Chol was 196, my HDL and LDL were Ok, one was a little

worse than the other but it was no big deal. He out me on 20 Mg's of

Lipitor a day, and it scares me. I am taking again Omega #, 3 times a

> day, 3,000 Mg's of Vitamin C , coQ10= 120 Mg's a day, Vitamin B

complex 3 times a day and one aspirin a day. Since being home now for

almost 3 weeks my leg feels better, but I am not walking that much

either.  I wanted to ask if Lipitor can cause depression?  I really

have never had depression before starting to take this Statin. Oh, the

Dr also out me on Doxium 500 mg  2 times a day for blood circulation.

I am a female and 49 years old.

> Thanks,

>

>It seems to me that you are treating a disease you don't have with a

powerful, dangerous drug. Why? To drive your cholesterol to

dangerously low levels? Can Lipitor cause depression? I know I'm

depressed because I can barely walk as a result of 6 mos. on the

poison. The brain is mostly cholesterol so lowering it may well cause

emotional/mental problems. More to the point this drug is very, VERY

dangerous and I hope you stop taking it.

be well

Hi,

I am sorry to hear that has been having such a hard time. I take

methotrexate pills, folic acid and hydroxychloroquine. I have taken them for a

while now. I do get stomach pains at times. I find that the methotrexate is what

causes me the most trouble. Prior to starting the methotrexate I took the

hydroxychloroquine and never had tummy troubles. My 15 year old takes

methotrexate injections and folic acid along with other medications. She took

the methotrexate for about a year and had a lot of tummy troubles. Then she

stopped taking it for about 5 months and the tummy pains got better. She has

been back on it for about 2 weeks now and the tummy pains, upset stomach, and

nausea have all come back with a vengence. I know she will get used to the

methotrexate again, but it will take her time. I do give her a ginger root pill

that helps with the nausea. I buy it over the counter.

I would definitely let the rheumy know that she is having such bad tummy

troubles. It's possible they will increase the folic acid or they can prescribe

leucovorin which is a little stronger than folic acid. was on this for a

while the first time she took the methotrexate. We may have to look into getting

her back on it for the stomach upset.

I hope this helps. Good luck and keep us posted.

She is also having gross hematuria as well. Anyone else expreience this???

Hi

My name ids . I personaly took hydrocloroquine for years when I lived

in Africa as a child. It was preventie for malaria. The medisin is very alkaline

and bitter. I could make me throw up while taking it, when I swallowed the

medice if I came on my toungh. It would upset my stomach and it was even worse

if I took it on an empty stomach. Give her food before taking it.

We stopped using it because of the risk for side effects on your vision.

Good Luck

Lydia, I have been taking Revlimid a year this September. The first 2 or 3 months, I had some nausea, fatigue, and tumor flare. I kept Zofran handy for the nausea. I did not push my self and worked through the fatigue. The tumor flare finally went away. The fatigue flares up occasionally, and I just rest more. The Revlimid has not interfered with life very much, and my counts look good, except for the platelets. They go up to a hundred and then fall back down. Doctors do not seem to be to worried about it. They have not gone below 70. Please contact me if you need any other information. Ruth

Ruth, what dose of Revlimid are you on? I am taking 15 mg every second day, and I am totally exhausted and very anemic (Hgb 8.0). That is a reduced treatment dose. It was supposed to be 15 mg every day, but my kidneys were acting up so they reduced it.

Dx. Oct. 2003 (various diagnoses, now unclassified NHL acting like multiple myeloma), CHOP x 8, R-CVP x 6, auto SCT April 2006, reduced intensity allo BMT Dec. 2006, CR 18 months, relapse Oct. 2008, now Revlimid + Velcade + dexamethasone.

Sybil, I am on 5mg daily. I was taking 10mg, but had some gastric upsets and it was cut back. I have found out that I have celiac disease, and that was the cause of the tummy problems. I expect they will up the dose when I go back to MDACC next week. Ruth

I am finishing my first month at 4.5 mg. per day and am itching all over, in

some places more than others, and have developed a yeast infection, which is

uncommon for me. I am wondering if I have a whole body yeast infection. Any

thoughts or ideas? Thanks!
