Guest guest
Hi Jackie... My son was treated with high dose IV antibiotics twice a day for three months and myself the same for five weeks.. We also had a IV solution each day for this time frame... It was seven days a week... I am still on oral antibiotics daily... That started three years ago... Yes, it is hard... but you muxt detoxify the toxins to decrease the severity of the symptoms... Hugs, LLRN Re: [ ] Length of treatment Jackie-- I can't imagine such aggressive treatment for Lyme and I've never heard of anyone else being treated so aggressively. The most my llmd will do is three shots a MONTH, and those are excruciating. I can't imagine what he must be going through. You don't have to kill the patient to kill the lyme. anne Jackie Meyer <meyerjackie50@...> wrote: My son-in-law was diagnosed with Lyme disease in October. He has been getting high doses of anti-biotics three times a week usually double doses ever since. The side effects include much vomitting, dehydration, very low blood pressure, very low sugar and blacking out. I don't know what it means but his Lyme disease % was as low as 2% but then he got the flu and it went back up to 20%. Has anyone else been treated this long with anti-biotics? Guest guest
I think it is good that your doctor treats Lyme so aggressive. My first Doc was an Infectious Disease Specialist who had no clue about Lyme. Gave me oral antibiotics that made me sicker, then one month of IV rocephin and declared me cured even when I obviously was not. Got a lot sicker including neuro Lyme etc, before I saw a real Lyme Doctor who put me on two month of IV rocephin combined with oral zithromax. It only helped a little and after a few month I am on my third IV treatment, which is 4 hour a day doxycycline IV infusions. Yuck. I feel like if I would have been treated right the first time I would not have gotten worse all the time. Kudos to those Doctors who will continue treatment until the patients actually improve. I am doing Buhner in addition to antibiotics, which seems to help a little with energy levels and overall sluggish feeling. Some of the herbs are really rough on your digestive system and can also mess up your hormones, Lyme is like a no win situation that has to get treated aggressively.
