Guest guest
> > > Hi Bee and everyone > > Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing hair loss on this program? I'm losing quite a bit of hair and I'm getting concerned as I have very thin hair to begin with. Maybe it's my thyroid problem as that can cause hair loss as well. Hi Maddy. There are many health problems that can cause hair loss, and one that is major, is candida. Candida toxins make all of the body's cell rigid/stiff so this will affect hair growth and loss of hair. During the beginning stages of the program more candida toxins are being released, so it is understandable hair loss could be the result. Of course candida toxins affect all of the organs in the body, making them malfunction, because the toxins making the cells rigid. This too shall pass. I lost tons of hair on the candida program, but it eventually stopped sometime during my 2 1/2 year cure. Luv, Bee

Guest guest
Thank you Bee ..... it was pretty good but seems in the past month it's falling out like crazy .... yes, I'm sure it is the candida as that messes up everything .... Guest guest
Like I said in an earlier post I cheated all summer (I teach school) while I was gone and really bad the last month. I am having die off right now and I have been losing a lot of hair. It is amazing I have any and what is left is noticeably thinner. I have been through this before and it will slow down and start to grow back. I don't know the exact reason but what I thought was that your body has resources to fix things and maintaining hair is not as high a priority. Back when I was REALLY sick and didn't know what was wrong with me I had hair loss and my hair was going gray. I was only 36 and I had big thick streaks of gray. I was putting the food in but it was not getting to my hair. Because of the candida there were not enough nutrients for the hair. My hair only has a few gray hairs now at the temple. Normal for a 38 year old. Shelby from NC

Guest guest
That is funny. Teachers have a hard job. All my hair turned back to it's original color except a few at the temple. I think that is normal and there is nothing I can do about that besides a little hair dye. Shelby

Your body is going through a lot of changes, and there are more toxins created by candida being killed off, which can cause hair loss. Hair loss is mainly caused by low adrenal and thyroid function, which most candida sufferers have. To understand more about how candida toxins affect all organ functions, and the utilization of hormones, nutrients, etc. see " Candida Causes Cell Membrane Defects " ; http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/cabout1.php Also see these articles on the adrenals & thyroid: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/menu4_7_1.php You can also search for previous Messages on this subject (Search Function above the Messages on the Group's Website). Guest guest
I had hair loss from doxy... eric From: Ingrid McSweeny <newfsandcurls@...> Subject: [ ] Hair Loss lyme-AidGroups Date: Thursday, November 13, 2008, 6:09 PM I was diagnosed with Lyme approximately a year ago and but most likely I've had since I was a teenager - 25 years ago. My symptoms became unbearable so I started medication (Tetracycline and Plaquinal (sp)) last December. Anyhow, I'm feeling much better but I've noticed my hair is very dry and has be thinning quite a bit lately. Is this condition due to the disease or could it be a side effect of the medication? Guest guest
Have you had your thyroid checked? Not the standard panel (nothing we need is standard, unfortunately); you need a full workup that includes free T3. An LLMD should be able to order the right thing. For more good info on silent thyroid disorders, check out <www.stopthethyroidmadness.com>. Lyme gets into the hypothalamus, which regulates endocrine function. From there, it can easily take out thyroid, adrenals, and so on. If you've had Lyme for a while (and especially if you've been under heavy stress at any point since), you're at high risk. There are other symptoms listed at the site. Belly fat, loss of eyebrow hair, dry skin, brittle nails -- take a look, and see if it fits. Guest guest
As Sara pointing out... there can be issues with the thyroid that can act up.  If you are of Celtic ancestry, you should also look into issues relating to the 'Celtic Curse' that can also cause havoc. Here is a link that explains this:  http://www.americanhs.org/Irish%20in%20the%20blood.htm  __________________________________________________________________ Ask a question on any topic and get answers from real people. Guest guest
I think that your hair loss is probably related more to the Lyme than to medication side effects. At one point I was almost bald! The identified cause for my hair loss was a hormonal imbalance. My entire hypothalmic-pituitary axis (the system in your body that is primarily responsible for hormone regulation among other things) was completely haywire. I would suggest you check into getting a full hormone screening panel. The most likely culprit for me was that my testosterone levels were high, my estrogen levels were almost non- existent, and my Vitamin D levels were very low. Once I got my hormones balanced out, my hair started growing back. I have also read that an overgrowth of yeast or fungus can cause follicular inflammation that can cause your hair to fall out. Tetracycline does have hair loss as a rare side effect. Plaquenil is also known to have hair loss as a side effect, but it is also known to help with hair loss as well. How is your diet? Is it well-balanced? Do you take vitamins? Are you taking a good probiotic to cut down on yeast? The causes for hair loss can be complex, so I would suggest that you consult with your doctor to get a thorough blood panel work up.

So there is a chance that your hair loss is totally normal and seasonal. Me too I have severe hair loss, ,but this happens to me every spring. There are no special things you need to do, whether the cause is thyroid, adrenals or other malfunctions, since they are all caused by a low immune system. Just do the diet and take the supplements. Guest guest
Hi Amy, I just wanted to let you know that when I started on Bee's program I was losing a lot of hair. I have thick hair, too, so it wasn't noticeable to others. It stopped falling out around the 8 month mark. I'm sure yours will slow down in time as well. > > I have pretty severe hair loss. Guest guest
I have only been taking levothyrorxin 25mcg for about 4 weeks now, I have noticed that my energy has increased for awhile. But I did start exercising again 3-4 days a week and I found myself getting really tired again. Not to mention because of the hypothyroidism, I am having female issues as well and I am also on Provera, which I hope this is my last month of. My Hair loss as gotten alot worse and it is so hard right now. I have increased my biotin levels but, I know it is a waiting game. I am just ready to feel better and have my hair grow back.  Thank you for your response. ________________________________ From: Chuck B <gumboyaya@...> hypothyroidism Sent: Tuesday, July 7, 2009 12:39:06 PM Subject: Re: Hair Loss , You wrote: > > Hello, my name is . That is an unusually small first dose. Most doctors are only this cautious if you have a heart condition. Is that the case? For example, I started at 75 mcg, and six weeks later increased to 125 mcg. Please share the test results that prompted this dose (with reference ranges). You might have a good argument for an immediate increase instead of waiting for the normal titration interval of six weeks. Chuck
Guest guest
  Since you are newly diagnosed, your doctor is starting you on a really low dose to see how it affects your thyroid. I was started at 50mcg...then gradually up to 100-125mcg. At around 100-125 mcg my hairloss had finally stopped.  I tried biotin as well, it did absolutely nothing for the hairloss. Once your thyroid levels are within a normal range for your body, it will stop. It took at least 2-3 months to stop my hairloss.      .... " Shine on, you crazy diamond. I'll see you on the dark side of the moon. " -/\= > > Hello, my name is . Guest guest
IMHO 25 mcg is a VERY LOW starting dose. Unless your doctor doubts you even have hypothyroidism I don't really know why he would start so low. Guest guest
You need to be on Naturethroid. Please join the naturalthyroid group & the iodine group, where people are getting well and not taking synthetic drugs that only have t3 & t4. Your body needs all the thyroid hormones, t1, t2, t3 t4 & one more, I forget. Read the stopthethyroidmadness.com site and the book. It will change your life Also read the naturalthyroidchoices.com site. A wealth of information. Read, read, read. You doctor won't get you well. Only you will. Guest guest
I have been dealing with lots of hair loss too. On this T3 only, will that get better? and if so how long would that take for it to at least stop coming out?
