Guest guest
I’ve been taking low dose naltrexone for three months. I stopped taking it a few days prior to having surgery due to anesthesia. After having surgery on finger #5, I resumed taking the naltrexone. I take it for colitis, IBS, and whatever else is going on with my colon at any day or time! It had been helping me until I now have developed a rash. I itch around the waist, some parts of the back, the groin area, scalp, ears. Doctor has taken me off naltrexone for ten days to see if the rash will go away. She thinks it may be the naltrexone that’s causing the itching. I asked her if it could be a delayed reaction from the anesthesia and she said she didn’t think so since it had been two weeks ago. I know it helps me when I’m not itching and I’ve taken it before I had the surgery and was okay. Don’t know what I’m going to do next since this is the only thing that has really helped my colon problems. Any suggestions…. Guest guest
Jeez, is there no end to the things that they can blame on LDN? I am not a doctor, but I would have guessed at shingles as it is a classic symptom to have a rash and horrible itching around the waistline that migrates around to the back and sometimes other areas. It is a viral infection that can be quite serious and miserable to live with. When my husband had it, the doctor told him NOT to quit the LDN as the immune system is about the only thing will help to get a handle on healing it. Best guess is that the surgery and going off of LDN put a lot of stress on the body (and immune system) and it broke out with the latent shingles. There are no confirmed reports of actual allergies to LDN. I do believe that your doctor, as usual, is guessing and grasping at straws. I can't believe that we actually pay them to use us for guinea pigs -- go off and see if that is the problem? How about using their medical degree to actually understand what is going on. No way I would go off of LDN if I had IBS or Crohn's. Francie > It had been helping me until I now have developed a rash. I itch around the waist, some parts of the back, the groin area, scalp, ears. Guest guest
My first thought was candida. Hope your Dr. knows what candida on the skin looks like. I had it from week 2 when I started LDN, and it's just now clearing up (9 mos. later). K.C. > > I've been taking low dose naltrexone for three months.
