Marcia,

I agree with

Nina, there could be something else going on. I would see a doc sooner if

possible. I mean if you are nauseous and vomiting, not keeping anything down,

you shouldn’t delay seeing the doctor.

Marcia,

Why don' t you go see your doctor and run some tests? It is normal to

associate all symptoms with the band after the surgery but I have seen that

very often patients have other things going on.

Go get checked out before you decide anything, I have never heard

patients have nausea so many weeks after surgery. Usually it is the first days

from and even 1 week after when some have difficulty swallowing.

I can tell you many stories about patients thinking there was something

wrong with the band ( or the band causing the symptoms) and finding out it was

something else. Gall bladder, Urinary Infections, Strep throat, stomach flu,

pregnancy, etc you name it.

it is hard to tell form this far away but a few tests might tell you

what is wrong.

Marcia, Are you taking in enough water? Try the Isopure protien

drinks,(not the shakes) and some gator-aide or pedi-lite. Also, take Immodium

after each loose stool. These will help replenish your electrolytes from the

diarrhea and help with the nausea. Dehydration or fluid volume

deficit, can occur when fluid loss

and decreased fluid intake

happen together for a prolonged time.

Symptoms of fluid volume deficit are: Acute weight loss,

poor skin tugor( the skin on top of your hand can be pulled up and stays up for

a few seconds when you let go), very little urine output, concentrated

urine, low blood pressure when changing positions ( you may feel lightheaded),

a weak and rapid pulse.

Symptoms of dehydration are:

Vomiting, diarrhea, Nausea, constipation, hard stool, dry mouth, thirst,

decreased saliva production, decreased esophageal peristalsis ( difficulty with

swallowing), poor skin tugor, increased respiratory rate, and the same symptoms

as fluid volume deficit as above.

You may not have all of the symptoms, just a few can may be enough.

If the nausea and diarrhea don't stop with some of the suggestions

above, then please see your local doctor. Don't wait too long..ok? You

don't want to chance it! The past 3weeks with the liquid phases may haven

taken a toll on you! Hope your feeling better soon!! Dana

Thanks so much for remembering. I am being worked up by a GI doc ? if the nausea and vomiting is gall bladder or a stone or possible problems with an ulcer maybe from the band. I will let you know as soon as I find out. Thanks again, Marcia

hi tracy

I wanted to let you know that I have had all kinds of tests: HIFA scan for gallbladder problems, endoscopy (normal) blool tests (all normal) and a stool to check for ova and parasites (? if I picked something up in Mexico). Awaiting culture for parasites. No answer so far about what is going on - I continue to have constant nausea and some vomiting and diarrhea. It seems to be getting worse instead of better. Having difficulty eating 2nd to nausea and gagging. Will keep you updated but if all the tests are negative, I am making a beeline back to Mexico to have the band removed. I am at a loss to what is going on.

Thanks for listening. Marcia

[ ] Nausea

I am new to this forum and I am having a terrible problem with nausea.

Can anyone recommend something to take for this, or perhaps explain to

me why I could be having such a problem with this. I was diagnosed with

lyme last year, but figure I have had lyme for at least 20 years. I am

following the Showmaker protocol but I know that it is not the doxy &

CSM that is causing this, because I have been troubled with nausea for

many years, only now it is getting worse. I have been to a gastrologist

and he found nothing wrong after having many stool tests and a

colonoscopy. Thanks for any in put anyone can give me. Judi

I will tell you what someone suggested to me yesterday

for my son. Her family members have lyme and a few

have nausea. It has lots of fructose in it but she

says it works. Nauzene - you can get it at your

grocery or local pharmacy......probably Walmart.

Tablets are chewable.

when I first got sick I was so nauseous, I took two pregnancy tests, but

they were negative needless to say, it felt just like morning sickness. I like

ginger for it, either ginger candy or lately I found chocolate covered chunks

of candied ginger. Yummy and really good for you. I found that at

" Wegmans " organic food section, they probably have it in health food stores

too. I

got rid of the nausea after the first round of IV antibiotics. I got it back

unfortunately and am now starting another two month of IV rocephin starting

Monday. I will check that nauzene too somebody else recommended.

Last year after recovering from a cold, I woke up in the middle of

the night. My head was spinning so fast, I barely made it to the

toilet in time to projectile vomit. For the next 24 hours, I

couldn't keep water down. Just rolling over in bed would start the

violent spinning and vomiting. The next day, I managed to drive to

Urgent Care, and was told that I had a viral inner ear infection.

The doctor refused to give me antibiotics; instead he gave me over-

the-counter motion-sickness medicine, Antivert, which I took for a

couple of weeks to calm the dizziness.

Six-months later, the dizziness is under control, but I still had

ringing in my ears, and the sensation that I was in a tunnel. I went

to an Ears, Nose and Throat specialist. He said my ears were not

infected, no fluid behind the eardrum, which I feared. He determined

my ear problems were TMJ disorder.

I didn't mention to him that I might have undiagnosed Lyme disease,

because it wasn't until recently that I read that ear pain, ringing

and dizziness can be another Lyme symptom.

Has anyone else experienced problems with their ears?

My active infection started with an ear infection going to

mastoiditis is 2 days. I had mastoiditis for 5 years, I've had

intermittent tenderness for the last 3 years. I'm altogether better

with rifing, salt/c, etc., etc. but still have little flair ups along

with other lyme symptoms.

I think there's just no telling how lyme is going to show up.

I have had really bad TMJ pain, but not in my ears. Suppose Lyme germs can

go anywhere. Lot of people seem to have eye problems too.

Hi Connie! My son has had Lyme for 15 years, and he can develop severe ear

infections out of the blue, with no viral infection present. He has TMJ with

pain so bad it can wake him

when he's sleeping. I also have Lyme and my son and I hear all kinds of strange

ringings and buzzings. I vomit and get dizzy nearly once a week. Five years ago,

I also went through a one week period when I couldn't keep any thing down--not

even water. My Lyme friends have similar problems at different times.

I'm concerned for you Connie. Are you taking anything to fight the Lyme? One

of my llmds says the best way to find if you have Lyme is to take some of the

treatments prescribed for it and see if you herx. If you do, don't worry about

taking inacurate tests to determine " for sure " whether or not you have it. Just

treat yourself and actively work (AND SUFFER!) to get yourself better.

Do you have an llmd?

Dearly hope you're feeling better now.

Thank you, Anne, for sharing your experience. The Urgent Care doctor

who diagnosed me for viral labyrinthitis never did a culture or

anything. He assumed it was viral, I guess, because I had had a

cold. I had never had ear problems prior to a year ago. Now I have

constant ringing, and occasional dizziness. As for the TMJ

diagnosis, I don't have jaw pain, but understand that it can result

in ear pain, or other " referred " pain. Since I don't grind or clench

my teeth, I believe my ear problems are Lyme-related.

I have considered " self-medicating " by getting antibiotics across the

border, but have not done so, because I keep hoping that someday I

will produce a positive blood test, and am afraid that taking

antibiotics would eliminate that possibility. BTW, what does " herx "

mean? It's hard to be a newbie :)

==>When your body has to deal with so many toxins being released by

candida during die-off it will produce a great deal of anxiety on a

physical level. Normally toxins do not directly affect the heart but

anxiety and stress on the body will. That is because the body will be

running on the a " panic level " , which is the sympathetic nervous

system. This speeds up the heart and other processes, yet slows down

others like acid production in the stomach. I think that also causes

nausea. You can take HCl in between meals when you have nausea.

It's too bad the breathing exercises didn't help you. I recommend you

do everything possible to help your body detoxify - see:

I hope that helps.

Well that was not the only source of nausea I found out.

If I do not take anysupplements I do not get nausea(and my milk supply

is back) but if I take them I do. So I figure to stay off them for a

few more days and then add them in one by one a few days apart from

each other. So that I can figure out which one is doing it.

I have only had this happen once before and that was when I was

pregnant. If I am pregnant is it safe to be detoxing?

Thanks

==>Yes detoxing the way my program does it is extremely safe, because

it is the diet (particularly high fats & oil soluble vitamins, omega-3)

that detoxifies and cleanses the body. But the diet and all

supplements work together so leaving any of them out interferes with

healing.

Nausea is caused by a lack of HCl in the stomach and/or when candida is

being killed off in the stomach, not by supplements or foods.

When you take any supplements ensure they are with meals, and also that

you take enough hydrochloric acid (HCl) supplements with them to help

digestion. When you get nauseated take 1-2 HCl tablets, even between

meals, which helps alleviate it nausea.
