Guest guest
Hi to everyone, I am new to the group. I have been lurking, reading and researching posts for the last couple of months. Thank you all for sharing. I have a few questions if anyone can help. For SPMS, • Research suggests to use DL-Phenylalanine, yet there has been circumstances where suggestions have been to use D-Phenylalanine. Do you take DL-Phenylalanine or D-Phenylalanine with LDN? What is the difference? Is D-PA used for another illness? • Is GABBA something that is important to take? • I've read some testimonials that some people with MS take Alpha Lipoic Acid with LDN. Is it important for people with MS to take ALA also? Is ALA and LDN used mainly for those who have cancer? In regard to sleep deprivation/Insomnia. • Taking 5htp and Melatonin is suggested to use with lack of sleep if LDN is causing Insomnia. If this doesn't work effectively, does anyone have any experience with ziziphus? Can it also be taken with 5htp and Melatonin together? In testimonials and other, many people take supplements. Reading some LDN sites state numerous supplements to take. Do people with MS take all of them??? • What would be the main supplementation generally used by those with MS? If anyone would like to share and add his or her views, I would be most appreciative, Thank you all in advance. ^J^
Guest guest
Here's some info about DLPA: http://ldn.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=forum & action=display & thread=96 http://ldn.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=forum & action=display & thread=1910 I think the LDN will work with or without supplements. DLPA is probably a good addition since it's supposed to actually help the LDN work. I have SPMS too, and LDN has stopped progression. I haven't had much symptom improvement, but then, there's always something to hope for in the future. I think the most important supplements for MS are calcium and magnesium with Vit D, because cramps and spasms can be prevented by taking enough of them. There was a problem with calcium carbonate (used by some as a filler with LDN) slowing the release of the LDN. I use calcium citrate and try not to take it close to the time I take my LDN. I think supplements are just that, " supplemental " , and not required for LDN to help you.
