Guest guest
Hi, I am brand new to this group today, my name is Sara, and I am hoping some of you might be able to help me with some unusual questions. I have a daughter with autism, adhd, ocd, mr. She had to be hospitalized within the past few years forover 3 months for extreem aggression. She is now home and doing very well since I made a lot of changes, including dietary and working with a DAN doctor. I had tried to wean her off her pychotropics in the past with the doc, and we almost had to rehospitalize her - at that point our DAN doc put her on 50 mg naltrexone (25 mg 2x/day) since she was howling in pain and holding her stomach while she was melting down and aggressing. Now fast forward about a year and a half. I have had her on SCD diet which is helping the underlying inflammatory bowel disease as well as the behavioral symtoms. I am weaning her off of the high dose naltrexone, and we are down to 12 1/2 mg 2x/day. I would like to shift her to LDN. She is 13 and weighs 160 pounds. Questions: has anyone shifted from Naltrexone at a high dose (typically used for recovering drug addicts) to LDN? Is this doable? Also at her weight, would 5 mg be OK? That is what one doc suggested. Or would it be better at 3.5 mg or so? Thanks! Sara
