Guest guest
Hello everyone, I started taking LDN a little over 8 years ago for MS and have not had any news exacerbations or lesions on my MRIs. It has totally turned my life around. Now I am looking to LDN in hopes of helping my 10 year old daughter who has had intermediate uveitis for over a year now. She was given systemic steroids(no help), steroid drops and finally a steroid shot directly to the eye that she was having the most inflammation and swelling of her optic nerve in. This seemed to arrest whatever was going on although she did lose some visual acuity in that eye. She has been getting regular check ups with her doctors. She has developed some swelling of her other optic nerve now along with increased inflammation in her eyes. Her doctors now want to start her on methotrexate to treat her symptoms but I am very hesitant to do this although it has been an effective (yet toxic) treatment for 20 years or so in autoimmune conditions. I printed out information from the ldn info website for her doctors, but am waiting to hear back from them because we told them that's what we wanted to try. I will be surprised if they comply since they are not familiar with ldn, but I would like to be proven wrong. My daughter has also been complaining of her feet and ankles hurting as of late and the doctors told us early on that uveitis is often associated with other autoimmune disorders. I don't want to do anything to make things worse for her as her sight is precious. Has anyone heard of ldn being used in intermediate uveitis or Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis? (she hasn't been diagnosed with JRA, but her complaints as of late have me wondering). I am hoping for some help! Thank you so much!
