I would like to know that too. I started taking ldn in october 2010 and have had pain in my lower back into my left hip. I had an mri and was told that I have degenerative disc disease and facet joint arthritis and some stenosis. I never had this before and I used to be much more active riding my bike etc. I am now in PT working on my back. Thanks. From: Anita Meyers

<anitabmeyers@...>low dose naltrexone Sent: Tue, April 5, 2011 8:48:59 PMSubject: [low dose naltrexone] Hip problems anyone?

Thanks for the wonderful report . LDN has helped me tremendously also. I feel it has stopped the progression of my MS... yea!!! Has anyone else noticed hip pain like after taking LDN? I've been taking it a little over a year with wonderful results but am experiencing annoying hip pain. It keeps me awake at night along with my precious LDN. : ) I've never had a problem with my joints until now. Any connection? Thanks folks,AnitaOn Apr 5, 2011, at 7:03 PM, wrote:ONE THING NOT HELPED is the arthritis. I have to say it's helped it about maybe

60%, but not entirely. I have some swelling still and mostly have the heat in the joints after eating cheap pasta I buy at walmart (generic). My daughter has the same issue. But, Sometimes there is no swelling or pain. I also have suddenly had a problem with joint degeneration. During High stress times, I have found that the day after a high stress day, I can't walk due to my left hip and leg being in so much pain. I just had it x-rayed and was told the hip joints show slight degerative disease. The pain is horrendous. That's all new.

Thanks.

I had hip problems long before I started LDN and I cannot see how LDN would cause same. Rather it is a disease that we aquire possibly through genetics and also through wear and tear, I would imagine it is just coincidental. This from my own experience..

I've said it before and I'll say it again: For musculoskeletal

problems--maybe especially hip and back problems--Feldenkrais! It's

little known but astonishingly effective and non-harmful. The LDN of

body work.

Good luck,

I don't know if there is a connection, but my left hip has been hurting like mad

for over a month. It started as a pain in the muscle or ligament that goes up

the front of the joint. I cannot stand up straight or step forward with the

right leg, leaving the left leg stretched back, without pain. Now, the pain is

progressing down the outside muscle of the thigh. I figured that this was from

protecting the other area. Heating pad with Ibuprofen makes it bearable.

I did fall in a leaf-covered ditch a few weeks ago on a trip to NC. The pain

started several days later, so I thought that it might be an injury. I have

tried resting it and have tried exercising it, but it is still maddeningly

painful. Having had cancer last fall, my mind goes toward horror stories like

bone cancer, but that does not fit either.

I started LDN on May 1, 2009, so I cannot see how it can be blamed on LDN.

Nonetheless, if somebody has a suggestion, I am very open to anything at this

point.

I had relief from Arnica gel applied topically to a painful hip joint.

That was in 2004. I started an exercise program - things anyone could do,

anywhere - such as standing against the kitchen counter and doing leg lifts to

the back and side, and squats - and within two months, the hip pain was gone and

never returned.

In 2009, I had right shoulder pain, which I also exercised away in a similar

fashion. Now I have left shoulder pain, and need to get moving in hopes of

" curing " it too.

I think my pains are/were the beginnings of arthritis - never diagnosed or

analyzed. Movement and strengthening the muscles around the joint worked for

me, but I suppose not all arthritis is the same, and if you have an injury, this

might not be a good approach.
