Guest guest
Just wondering whether anyone has had any experience with ldn and pregnancy? I've been on it for a while for anxiety and depression and it's quite helpful, but am looking at getting pregnant in a year or so. I don't think I want to be on the ldn during pregnancy as there is no conclusive evidence, so I'd feel better stopping it. Just wondering whether anyone has any experience with stopping ldn suddenly and if there are side effects? Thanks!
Guest guest
As far as anyone knows, it`s perfectly fine to continue taking LDN during pregnancy. There was one woman here that took LDN all through hers and gave birth to a healthy child. Also theres a doctor in the UK/Ireland that uses it to help fertility issues...cant remember who it is now..Dr.Boyle perhaps?Bev low dose naltrexone From: amym5552@...Date: Wed, 6 Apr 2011 01:18:24 +0000Subject: [low dose naltrexone] Pregnancy and ldn Just wondering whether anyone has had any experience with ldn and pregnancy? Guest guest
It's correct that LDN is being used to treat infertility. Babies born to women on LDN are more robust, according to Dr Boyle. Dr Boyle can be found and consulted with by distance, afaik. -- >Just wondering whether anyone has had any experience with ldn and >pregnancy? Guest guest
Yep I've read Dr Boyle's research. I just wonder about long term effects on the baby's brain chemistry – changes to endorphin receptors etc? Do people notice changes or negative side effects when they stop taking ldn, or should it be done gradually? > > It's correct that LDN is being used to treat infertility. Guest guest
I have forgotten to take my LDN, for several days in a row a couple of times. The only thing that happens is the return of symptoms. LDN is not something the body develops a dependency on. I would be just as concerned about what anxiety and depression do to a developing fetus. Not to mention mother/child bonding postpartum. just a thought. -- At 11:08 PM 4/5/2011, you wrote: >Yep I've read Dr Boyle's research. Guest guest
I am one of the mums who stayed on LDN throughout my pregnancy (2nd child). I believe it helped me to fall pregnant & hoped it would help me manage my health problems throughout the pregnancy. My obstetrician allowed me to stay on it and said it was such a low dose she was not concerned about any harm to the baby. My 'baby' is about to turn 2 and she is such a happy and healthy girl. I think it was a benefit to both of us to stay on this medication.
Guest guest
Lovely to read, this must be encouraging to many who question LDN in pregnancy and confirms what Dr.Phil Boyle says. Thanks for telling us. Continued good luck to you. Silvia > > > > I am one of the mums who stayed on LDN throughout my pregnancy (2nd child).
