Guest guest
Hi everyone. I started taking LDN this past January. I had found info. online and researched it, then took this research to my doc and he prescribed 4.5 mg at bedtime. I took it to a compounding pharmacy who told me that they were aware with how it needed to be compounded correctly to be effective, so I filled it with them. I've been taking it at bedtime, which for me, is about 3 a.m. I usually get up anywhere between 10 and noon...depending on how my night went. I'm disabled, so have allowed my body to choose it's own sleep schedule and this is what it is. I have noticed no change other than I wake up sweating most of the time in the morning now. I have also felt worse, not better. I had read somewhere online where this happens to some patients, but I didn't see a reason why it happens. I am wondering, am I taking it at the right time of day (night)? Does the drug work with the body's sleep cycles or should I be taking it at a different time? I'm overweight, should I be taking more according to my weight? I'm wondering because I've heard so many comments that it's helped people, but I can't even tell that I'm taking it...unless the sweating & feeling bad is a symptom. I'm 48 and am disabled due to FMS. I have high BP, but it's being treated with Coreg and Diovan HCT and it's usually low, not high when I take a reading here at home. I have a little arthritis in my knees, but other than that, no other major medical problems. I also take potassium for my high BP. Other than that, the meds that I take are: Lyrica, Cymbalta and occasionally, Flexeril. Instead of using Flexeril, I've tried medical marijuana which I use before bedtime and it helps me relax and sleep (which is a lot better than the Flexeril, which can damage my liver). I also take Prevacid for heart burn and a multivitamin when I can remember it, plus 2K of cinnamon/chromax a day. Should I stay at my present dosage for a few more months to see what happens...should I have the dosage upped...I need some advice. I'm going to see my doc tomorrow and need to tell him something when he asks me about my experience with LDN. If I need to up the dose or keep it the same, then I need some type of a reference as to why. Thanks for the help. *=)
