Herbs For Indigestion

Thursday November 26, 2009

Did you overindulge during your feasting? Are you sitting here surfing the net because heartburn has you up late and unable to rest? Here are some herbs that may help relieve that bloated, acidic and just plain overworked digestive system.

Mint - It might sound boring, but mint tea is easy on the stomach and really does soothe your indigestion. No special trick to it, just plain old mint of any kind will do. I enjoy peppermint myself.

Fennel - Not always the first herb ones might think of, but it just might be in your herb cupboard. Try making a simple fennel tea, or just chew on a few seeds. Either way, it really works.

Dill - You may be surprised to know that good old dill is a stomach soother. It helps relieve excess gas as well.

Chamomile - A classic herbal tea for most of us, chamomile can also soothe your stomach and calm your jangled nerves after a day with extended family.

I hope you don't need any of these easy remedies, but just in case you do, the chances are that you have at least a couple in your kitchen already.
