Guest guest
Yes, it is being successfully used for a variety of problems with pets. I just got an email from a friend who is using it on his dog with mammary cancer. She had been given 3-6 months, but is now a 4 year survivor. We use it for any time that a boosted immune system is good, such as before vaccinations, at weaning time, before going to a new home. Our vet uses it for treatment of mange and other opportunistic infections, such as rain rot in horses. He is working on utilizing it for breeding season to improve conception rates. My Mom uses LDN for Crohn's and would not survive without it. I see no reason why it cannot be used for that in dogs. There is a newsgroup called LDN for Pets. Dr Skip has given us appropriate doses for different sized pets, and you can probably get some good advice there. The best advice as far as I am concerned, is to give it a try. Why would somebody not? The 50 mg pills can be dissolved and the dosage is infinitely variable. We get ours without a prescription (outside of Mexico) at <http://NaltrexoneRx.com.mx> . If your vet will write a prescription, all the better and get it filled at Skip's Pharmacy. They are big advocates and always kind enough to talk to the doctor or vet to give their very learned advice. And it's particularly helpful for colitis, as in is/can be in people. We have a cat on it for pancreatitis, which also effects the digestive system. It has helped him tremendously. You will no doubt have to explain to your vet what it is, however, as he/she probably hasn't heard of it. Our vet prescribed it and he get it compounded from Skip's Pharmacy, as we do the LDN my husband and I both take for ourselves (he for post-polio syndrome; I for Crohn's). n
Guest guest
We use 3.0mg in a dog that had colitis and anal fistulas and was 80lbs, and use self compounded liquid form. Dog is doing great now. The owner thought he was fine and tried stopping the LDN and dog quickly developed liquid bloody stools. Back on LDN and he is as healthy as can be. best, P.B. > > Hi everyone, > > I've been reading your emails and have been very interested in > hearing everyone's successes. > > I am trying to find out if you can use LDN for pets.
