Guest guest
You need to do a candida diet. No refined grains or sugars. I had to do difulcan and oregano ( too ADP from Biotics Research) and took good probiotics in high doses and that helped but I didn't have it as bad as you do. Sounds like yours is systemic. I was taking 75 mgs of Iodoral at the time and it didn't do a thing. Steph Yeast Has anyone had success at keeping systemic yeast infections at bay with Iodoral? Guest guest
OOPS! That's the other thing I took with the ADP - Citricidal which is a pill form of grapeseed extract. Guest guest
How much Grape Seed Oil do you need to take a day to wipe out a vag yeast infection? Thanks so much. Guest guest
I have had the yeast problem for many years and just started the Cortef a month ago. Cortisol tends to lower your immune response, so I think that the already-present yeast flourished when the Cortef was introduced. The Armour really didn't figure into it at all. Also currently taking Diflucan and Nystatin, which will kill off a bunch of it, but it always returns after a few months and I would like to at least keep it surpressed if I can kill it altogher. Thanks for your recommendations on herbs and diet. To due hypoglycemia, I already eat a low carb diet, but will be stricter on cheese, peanuts, etc. Will try some of the herbs, too. I was taking Iodoral regularly for a few months and just got out of the habit, so I am reintroducing it in the hope that it might be the element that can control the overgrowth. Thanks to all for suggestions. Kim

Guest guest
Would it be helpful to go on a wheat elimination diet for a couple weeks and see if it gets better? I used to have miserable recurrent vaginal yeast but after cutting out the wheat I havent had any. Also had terrible acne and it cleared up in a month after avoiding wheat.Sylvia

Guest guest
I think it's actually grapeFRUIT seed extract. Citricidal and GSE refer to grapefruit seed extract, not grape seed extract. Guest guest
I've been battling Candida (and chronic fatigue) for a long time. Got treated by an acupuncturist with some nasty herbs and was off carbs totally for a month followed by low carb diet. Didn't seem to have much effect on the Candida. Then I tried ThreeLac for several months and it seemed to help some but I still had a yucky coating on my tongue and still some bloating and digestive problems. Since I started Iodoral on November 21st my tongue has cleared up and I'm having die off symptoms but my energy is getting better and better and the brain fog has cleared up. Digestion is much better. My skin and hair are better too. I've gradually increased the Iodoral to 31.25 mg per day. I was on 120 mg Armour when I started and have decreased to 30 mg per day. I think the Iodoral has definetly helped to kill off the Candida.

Guest guest
iodine is "antiyeast" so the right dose should help a lot with yeast probs. Guest guest
Iodine is also antiparasitic. I believe the reason that Hulda uses Green black walnut hulls is for its iodine content. I think she even mentions this in her book. She uses the cloves and wormwood to attack the parasites at different stages of development -- larva and eggs. Guest guest
You are where many of us find ourselves-----two different modes of testing, and which to trust. The blood reading under microscope is totally subjective to the person reading----------which can very in expertise. I have had both labs and LB (live blood) work done------and seem to trust both for each's strength. I value the labs a bit higher. There are tests to confirm the hypercogulative blood. What is the naturopath recommending for the " thick blood " ?? I personally had a huge success in antibiotic work by adding heparin shots to my protocal. There are supplements such as nattokinanise(sp) which are said to do the same. Thinning the blood allows oxygen to move faster, supporting the antibiotic work. Sounds like your getting good input on both fronts. God Bless, Sara > > I went to a naturopath/MD. He took a small sample of blood and under the microscope it showed a very large amount of yeast, (coincidentally, it showed that my red blood cells were clumped together - could this be " sticky blood " or hypercoagulation?). He thinks this could be my problem, (CFS for about 4 years), especially since I've been on anti-biotics a lot, particularly in the last year for a supposed mycoplasma infection, (found by a well-known CFS doc via anti-body testing, but not seen by this guy via PCR test). > > I've since done 2 courses of Diflucan, (anti-fungal), and my physical energy is up considerably, (20%-25%), but I still have no real aerobic capacity, (can walk for 15 minutes or so, but no real tolerance for more strenuous exercise). Plus, my mental energy still drops off pretty quick, (ie. from reading, computer). > > So, my question is: Can a major yeast infestation alone cause the brain fog and fatigue of CFS? Guest guest
Thanks Sara. I elected to stop the antibiotics since no mycoplasma was found with PCR and since I'm so full of yeast. Hope it's the right chocie. I'm certainly feeling better since stopping the abx. We haven't really decided on the " sticky blood " thing yet - haven't done a specific test for it yet, though my fibrinogen(sp?) level was normal. He did say we could try some low dose heparin, so that might be next. > > > > I went to a naturopath/MD. Guest guest
I had extremely good results with garlic. Garlic has blood thinning properties as well as antibiotics-like/antimicrobial properties. Try 1-4 raw cloves a day. Check pubmed (search garlic) if you are skeptical. Please let me know if it has helped you.
Guest guest
I am having a problem with yeast. I've been eating yogurt and trying to stay away from bread or not eat as much of it. Any way has anyone else had or is having this problem that has some useful information? When I saw my doc a few weeks ago he was unaware that LDN could cause this. I've been on LDN for over 4 months and my problems didnt really start till a few months ago. It is rather embarrassing to talk about if you know what I mean. Thanks for your help. Guest guest
The " balance " of friendly bacterias & yeasts within the total " microflora " (all the flowers in the mini-garden) of the kefir may sometimes get skewed off-balance. Refrigeration tends to make it start towards the yeasties predominating but if kept on the counter (ordinary room temp) with the fresh culturing every day, it should restore to normal balance in short order. There is not a " yeast issue " with kefir as one might think of yeast problems in the body. As a matter of fact it is probably the most effective yeast problems in the body preventative there is! Find out for sure what he meant and what he was doing with it. Cheers, Joyce Simmerman On 8/15/2011 8:54 PM, zoedane1 wrote: > > I recently gave some grains to a friend.
